On March 09, the Minister of Education Emin Amrullayev met with Kairat Osmonaliev, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Kyrgyz in our country.    During the meeting, it was discussed the current situation and improvement perspectives of the cooperation in the field of education between two countries.

On March 02, the Minister of Education Emin Amrullayev visited the city of Lankaran.   The opening ceremony of STEAM Centre in complete secondary school No 7 of Lankaran city was held in the framework of the visit.   Participating at the opening ceremony, the Minister of Education Emin Amrullayev got acquainted with the condition created in the Centre for students.   It was mentioned that the Centre is regional in nature. So, it is intended that the students from the villages of Lankaran city, as well as from Masalli, Astara, Lerik and other neighbor regions may benefit this Centre.   It shall be noted that it is planned to extend STEAM project currently covering the students more than 100 thousand for country in the next academic year.   The aim of the project is to form critical, creative thought, skills of collaborating and other XXI century skills, to create the opportunity of learning through creative process in the students. As well as, combining the subjects in unified learning model based on the applications in the directions of the solution of integrative, real issues, improving the capability of using modern ICT equipment by applying different programming languages are among the aims of the project.

The opening ceremony of complete secondary school No 7 of Lankaran city was held after its overhaul on March 02.   The Minister of Education Emin Amrullayev, Head of Executive Power of Lankaran City Taleh Garashov, chief of Educational Department of Lankaran City Ulviyya Aliyeva and other guests participated at the opening ceremony.   Before the ceremony, the memorial of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev was visited, the bouquet of flowers was laid down on it.   It was mentioned at the opening ceremony that the overhauled school is capable of 1176 students. There will operate 6 laboratories, 2 occupationally oriented school, 2 technological cabinets, 2 computer science cabinets, premilitary cabinet, chess cabinet, preschool room, act hall for 210 persons, library and canteen for 144 persons in the general educational institution consisting of 31 classrooms.   After the opening ceremony, the participants got acquainted with the condition created in the school.

On the 1st of March, it was held opening ceremony of Library-Information Center of Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University (ASPU).   Among the participants of opening ceremony were the Minister of Education Emin Amrullayev, rector of ASPU Jafar Jafarov, vise-president of “bp Azerbaijan” company Bakhtiyar Aslanbayli, Director of Azerbaijan National Library Karim Tahirov and heads of libraries of various higher educational institutions.   The participants got acquainted with the condition created in and serviced provided by the Center.   It was mentioned that the library operated on the basis of working principle established based on the most modern electronic systems. This project was financed by “bp Azerbaijan” company which guided the principle of corporative social responsibility.   The Minister of Education Emin Amrullayev congratulated the staff and stated that the library infrastructure was one of the most important issues of any higher educational institutions. Creating such a different environment in ASPU was also new stimulus for the organization of educational services.   In his turn, the vise-president of “bp Azerbaijan” company Bakhtiyar Aslanbayli congratulated the staff of the university and mentioned that he has been always interested in the execution of such kind of projects. Rector Jafar Jafarov thanked the Ministry of Education and “bp Azerbaijan” company for their attention on behalf of the staff of the university and emphasized that ASPU had the second largest university library of the country with the library fund of 750 thousand copies.   After the opening of the Center, it was held the ceremony of awarding the employees rewarded for 100th anniversary of the university by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.   The Minister of Education Emin Amrullayev made a speech at the ceremony and stated that pedagogical work and preparation of pedagogical staff was the core of any educational systems. In this respect, the education provided by ASPU was the strategical work directed to the future of the country. The education given here was reflected in the schools after a certain period of time. In this regard, besides the material resources, it is significant to inculcate skills, to pay attention to the process of personality development.   The Minister mentioned that there were greater aims in front of the educational system after the Victory won in 44-days Patriotic War. Emin Amrullayev stated that it was planned to begin the first educational activity in Shusha in the ending of the current year and added that there were increase in the requirements for the young teachers trained in ASPU in this point of view.  At the ending of his speech the Minister of Education addressed that many improvements were achieved as a result of reforms taken in the said university and emphasized the necessity of taking relevant actions in this direction by always following the world educational trends.   Then, “Individual Scholarship of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan”, the honorary title of “Honored Teacher”, “Progress” medal, “3rd degree Labor order”, “Honorary Diploma of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan” and “Glory” order were presented to 53 employees rewarded by the relevant decrees of the head of the country.   Making speech, rector Jafar Jafarov expressed his gratitude to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the administration of the Ministry of Education for high confidence and emphasized that the professor-teacher staff of the higher educational institution leaded by him would work even harder for the execution of their duties at the highest level.   The Minister of Education Emin Amrullayev got acquainted with activity of TURKSOY chair, of, Heydar Aliyev Museum, of computer laboratories created with the support of the Ministry of Education, visited “Victory corner” created in the philology faculty in the framework of the event. As well as, it was observed the teaching process of the students of the faculties of the philology and mathematics.   The memorial photo was taken at the ending of the ceremony.

On February 16-17, 2022, the online XVIII International Zhautykov Olympiad in Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science was held in Almaty city of Kazakhstan.   Our students successfully participated in the Olympiad, won totally 15 medals, being 3 silver, 12 bronze medals.   It shall be noted that our students have participated in the said Olympiad since 2006 till now and won totally 87 medals, being 4 gold, 30 silver, 53 bronze.   The preparation procedure for International Olympiads in Computer Science is held with the support of “Azercell Telecom” company.

On February 22, the Minister of Education Emin Amrullayev met with Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili in the framework of his visit to this country.   During the meeting, Emin Amrullayev stated that there was close cooperation between two countries in the field of education as in other fields, noted that there were great opportunities for the improvement of this cooperation. As well as, it was discussed the issues of supporting the teaching in Georgian and Azerbaijani languages respectively in Azerbaijan and Georgia, of organization of joint activity directed to advanced training of pedagogical staff.   Then the delegation of the Ministry of Education visited school No 73 of Tbilisi city in which the teaching was conducted in Azerbaijani language, as well as school No 3 in the region of Gardabani. The delegation got acquainted with the condition created in both institutions, met with the teacher-student staff of the schools.   Emin Amrullayev also met with the rector of Georgian Technical University David Gurgenidze. The parties discussed the perspectives of expanding cooperation between the higher educational institutions of two countries.

The special classes dedicated to the Khojaly genocide will be held in the educational institutions on February 25-26.   It was stipulated in “Events Plan on the 30th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide” of the Ministry of Education.   In accordance with Events Plan, taking into account the requirements of quarantine regime in the general educational institutions, it is considered to organize the literary-artistic compositions, handmade painting exhibitions of the students, to display documentary and feature films dedicated to the Khojaly genocide.   As well as, it has been planned to organize the international events dedicated to the anniversary of the Khojaly genocide in Baku State University, ADA University and Azerbaijan State Economic University.

On February 21, the meeting was held with the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Mikheil Chkhenkeli in the framework of visit of the Minister of Education Emin Amrullayev to Georgia.  The current status of the cooperation in the field of education between two countries was discussed, the opinions were exchanged on the steps to be taken for the improvements of relations during the meeting.  The activity of schools in which the teaching is conducted in Azerbaijani and Georgian, respectively in both countries, the mutual exchange of textbooks for these schools was highly appreciated.  Then “The Agreement on cooperation in the field of education between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Georgia” was signed for the purpose of strengthening the existing legal base in the field of education and of extension of mutually useful cooperation on many directions. Joint briefing was held for media at the end of the meeting.  The Minister of Education Emin Amrullayev also visited Integration Center of Azerbaijanis operating in Marneuli region of Georgia.  Then he got acquainted with the associations operating under the Youth Union of Marneuli with the support of SOCAR and met with the heads and teachers of schools in which teaching was conducted in Azerbaijani acting in the regions of Marneuli, Bolnisi, Dmanisi, Tsalka, Tetritskaro of Georgia.

The official visit of the Minister of Education Emin Amrullayev to Georgia continues.  The Minister of Education Emin Amrullayev visited the memorial of national leader in Heydar Aliyev Park in Tbilisi, laid a wreath in front of it and commemorated him with the delegation in the framework of the visit.  Then the Minister of Education Emin Amrullayev visited Museum of Azerbaijani Culture named after M.F. Akhundzadeh, got acquainted with the life and creativity of M.F. Akhundzadeh, the activity of the museum, information on exponents held there.   The Minister of Education Emin Amrullayev met with George Sharvashidze, rector of Tbilisi State University named after Ivane Javakhishvili in the framework of the visit.  The Minister of Education Emin Amrullayev stated that there was good cooperation between the higher schools of Azerbaijan and Georgia. The Minister noted that the development of relations in the field of education between two countries created the opportunities for extension of cooperation in other directions.  Emin Amrullayev stated that Azerbaijan was interested in the improvement of relations with neighbor and friend Georgia in all directions, including science and education. One of the main aims of this visit is exchanging opinions on this.  In his turn, rector George Sharvashidze gave detailed information on the activity, international cooperation of the university leaded by him. He pointed out that Tbilisi State University named after Ivane Javakhishvili cooperated closely with Ganja State University, Khazar University and other higher educational institutions of Azerbaijan.  Then the detailed exchange of opinions was conducted on other issues of mutual interest in the meeting.  The necessity of student exchange, cooperation in the field of education, conducting joint scientifical studies between higher educational institutions of two countries was emphasized during the conversation.  It shall be noted that the visit of the Minister of Education to Georgia will end on February 23.

On February 14, Minister of Education Emin Amrullayev met with Chunichi Wada, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan in our country.   During the meeting, it was discussed the current condition and perspectives of cooperation in the field of education between the Ministry of Education and Japan in the framework of “Japan-Azerbaijan Friendship Year”.
