    Azərbaycan SSR Xalq Komissarları Sovetinin 28 aprel 1920-ci il tarixli qərarı ilə Xalq Maarifi Nazirliyinin adı dəyişdirilərək Xalq Maarifi Komissarlığı adı ilə yenidən təşkil edilib və ölkədəki bütün təhsil müəssisələri bu qurumun tabeliyinə verilib.

Azerbaijan's Shusha city hosts the 7th meeting of the Scientific Council of the Turkic Academy

On June 1, Azerbaijan's Shusha city hosted the 7th meeting of the Scientific Council of the Turkic Academy. Speaking at the event, President of the Turkic Academy Shahin Mustafayev highlighted the holding of the meeting in Shusha as a significant event. He emphasized that this meeting facilitates the exchange of views aimed at strengthening scientific cooperation and making relevant decisions.   For his part, the Azerbaijani Minister of Science and Education, Emin Amrullayev, expressed his satisfaction with this prestigious event. Speaking about the goals of the Turkic Academy, Emin Amrullayev, elaborated on the collaborative efforts in the fields of science and education undertaken within the framework of cooperation with the Academy.   The agenda items for the meeting were then discussed.   A report on the activities of the Turkic Academy was presented as part of the meeting.

Azerbaijan`s Shusha hosting 8th meeting of the Education Ministers of the Organization of Turkic States

On June 1, the VIII Meeting of the Ministers of Education of the Organization of Turkic States was held in Azerbaijan's Shusha.   The Minister of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Emin Amrullayev, who delivered the opening speech, welcomed the guests and underlined the successes achieved by the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in a short period, which are admirable.   Saying that the Ministry of Science and Education is happy to contribute to these pivotal processes, Emin Amrullayev emphasized that the foundation of sustainable and healthy cooperation between the Turkic-speaking countries is the youth. The minister noted that in this regard, the exchange of students of general educational institutions within the framework of OTS enables our schoolchildren to get to know our common history, culture and traditions.   The minister said that within the organization's framework and bilateral cooperation, relations between the OTS member states have been steadily thriving. He assessed the schools built with the support of brotherly countries in the territories liberated from occupation, as well as other works done, as another symbol of friendship and brotherhood between our countries.   At the end of his speech, the minister touched upon the goals ahead for the development of bilateral cooperation with OTS member and observer countries.   Later, other guests spoke and talked about strengthening cooperation in the fields of science and education.   After the speeches, the issues on the agenda of the meeting were discussed.

Delegations from the member states of the Organization of Turkic States and the Turkish Academy visited secondary school No.1 of Shusha city

On May 31, delegations from the member states of the Organization of Turkic States, the Turkish Academy, and observer states visited secondary school No. 1 during their trip to Shusha city.   Minister of Science and Education, Emin Amrullayev, showcased the school's modern facilities and highlighted the STEAM centre established at the educational institution.   It was reported that the school, accommodating 960 students across a three-story building, comprises five blocks. There are 40 classrooms with 24 seats each, 2 physics, 2 chemistry, 2 biology, 2 technology rooms, 2 IT rooms, a STEAM centre, a library, a reading room, a primary military training room, an art and music room, a canteen, an assembly hall and a sports hall, along with medical examinations, and administrative offices.

Meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to our country

On May 27, the Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the Republic of Azerbaijan Omar Barakat al-Nahar. During the meeting, the current state of co-operation between the two countries in the field of science and education, as well as the prospects for the development of co-operation relations were discussed.

The Minister of Science and Education meets with the management of “Clarivate Analytics” in London

Taking part in the World Education Forum, Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev met with the management of “Clarivate Analytics” company, one of the most influential bibliometric and scientometric research companies in the world.   At the meeting with the delegation headed by Bar Weinstein, President of the company for work with academies and governments, the sides discussed scientometric indicators of Azerbaijan in recent years.   It should be noted that on the initiative of the Ministry of Science and Education, since 2023 all scientific and higher education institutions have been granted access to the scientometric database "Web of Science" of the "Clarivate Analytics" company.

Emin Amrullayev held meetings at the World Education Forum

The World Education Forum, held in London, Great Britain, will conclude its work today. On the second day of the forum, Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev met with Global Director of Climate Education of Cambridge University Kristina Ozden, Head of Global Affairs of International Rating Agency Phil Baty, director of education for Central Europe of Microsoft Lenka Axlerova, the Director of Education, Gender and Equality of the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office, and the Special Representative of Great Britain for Gender Equality Alisia Herbert and Chris Harte, Google for Education Government Strategy Lead. Emin Amrullayev also met and exchanged views with the Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, Giorgi Amilakhvari. Within the framework of the meetings, bilateral cooperation directions were discussed.

Bilateral meetings were held at the World Education Forum

Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev, who participated in the World Education Forum, held bilateral meetings.   Emin Amrullayev met with the Minister of Higher Education of Malaysia, Zambri Abdul Kadir, and the Minister of Preschool and General Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Khilola Umarova.   Within the framework of the Forum, the Minister of Science and Education also met with Baroness Emma Nicholson, the British Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy for Azerbaijan, and Baroness Diana Baran, the British Education Department’s adviser on schools.   The current situation and prospects of bilateral cooperation were discussed within the framework of the mentioned meetings.  

Minister of Science and Education at the World Education Forum

The Azerbaijani delegation led by the Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev is participating in the World Education Forum held in London.   The forum, where attended 120 ministers from 114 countries, is dedicated to the topic “Promoting Artificial Intelligence, Building Human Relations and Resilience, Accelerating Climate Action. How should we prioritize policy and implementation for stronger, bolder, better education?”.   It should be noted that it is planned to hold bilateral meetings with the delegations of a number of countries within the framework of the forum.

Emin Amrullayev met with Azerbaijani students studying in Great Britain

Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev is on a business visit to the United Kingdom to participate in the World Education Forum, which is being held in London on May 19-21.   Within the framework of the visit, the Minister of Science and Education met with Azerbaijani students studying at British universities with state scholarships.   At the meeting, Emin Amrullayev informed the students about the reforms and future plans in the field of science and education in Azerbaijan. Talking about the planned large-scale projects to be implemented in the territories freed from occupation, the Minister also talked about the Karabakh University, which will start operating in Khankandi from the next academic year. The Minister said that the goal is to turn this university into a center of international science and research, as well as quality higher education of the Caucasus.    In addition, the Minister, who gave information about the state and double diploma programs for education abroad, international education projects, talked about the work done in the field of doctoral education in Azerbaijan.   Emin Amrullayev emphasized that it is a good thing that more Azerbaijani students study in the most prestigious universities of the world within the framework of state programs. The Minister expressed hope that this indicator will continue with increasing dynamics in the coming years.   At the end of the meeting, the Minister answered the students’ questions and took a commemorative photo with them.

The first medal of our students in the International Science and Engineering Fair

For the first time, Azerbaijani schoolchildren won a medal at the International Science and Engineering Fair of the USA.   Said Aslanov and Ibrahim Allahverdiyev, X grade students of World School under the Khazar University, won a bronze medal in the “Biomedicine and Health Sciences” category at the competition held in California on May 11-17. In addition, Nijat Taghizada, a X grade student of the same school, and Khazar Huseynov, a X grade student of the educational complex No. 132-134, were awarded a special prize in the “Robotics” category.   Note that the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) is the world’s most prestigious science competition for students.
