International event in Baku under the project "eTwinning”
On May 15, the “eTwinning” project launched its international seminar on "Innovation and Education”. Twenty-five educators from Albania, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Finland, Portugal, Slovakia, and Slovenia, the representatives of respective ministries of education of these countries, and a total of 28 teachers from eight regions are participating in the seminar. Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Science and Education Hasan Hasanli spoke about the integration of the eTwinning project into the education system and its successful implementation in our country, emphasizing the importance of the project in terms of building a project model of the lesson and sharing experiences. The deputy minister noted that the project enables teachers to effectively use information and communication technologies in education and take advantage of online professional development opportunities. “eTwinning” project managers from the above-mentioned countries then spoke about the application of “eTwinning project” in their respective countries and the opportunities that the project offers educators. The next days of the seminar will include trainings and panel discussions on introduction of information and communication technologies into education, project-based learning and development of teachers' skills in the 21st century. The trainings will be conducted by both foreign and domestic experts. At the end of the event, participating teachers will create collaborative lesson models on the “eTwinning” platform that will pave the way for the use of innovative teaching methods. It should be noted that the “eTwinning” project is part of the European Union's Lifelong Learning Program and provides educators working in preschool, secondary and higher education institutions the opportunity to participate in trainings on professional development, international cooperation, the formation of collaborative lesson models and becoming part of Europe's largest learning community.

The Minister met with a group of Azerbaijani students in Great Britain
Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev met with a group of Azerbaijani students studying in Great Britain within the framework of state programs on education abroad on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev. The meeting was also organized to exchange views on education and future opportunities. During the meeting, it was specially emphasized that Heydar Aliyev supported Azerbaijani students to study in the best universities of the time both during the Soviet period and during the years of independence. It was noted that for the sake of the future of Azerbaijan, attention to education is still an important part of the great leader’s legacy.

Heydar Aliyev’s legacy was commemorated in the House of Lords
On May 9, a meeting was held in the House of Lords with the participation of Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev, British Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy for Azerbaijan Baroness Emma Nicholson and our country’s Ambassador in Great Britain Elin Suleymanov. It was emphasized that the meeting coincided with the 100th anniversary of the national leader Heydar Aliyev’s birth. It was also expressed in the meeting satisfaction with the cooperation in the field of education between the two countries, and it was stated that the British higher education institutions are on the list of universities preferred by citizens of Azerbaijan within the framework of state programs on education abroad. In addition, views were exchanged on the development prospects of cooperation in general, higher education and research fields.

Azerbaijani Minister of Science and Education addresses the World Education Forum
A delegation led by the Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev continues to participate in the World Education Forum, held in the traditional format in London. Delegation of the Ministry of Science and Education of Azerbaijan at the World Education Forum
The World Education Forum, organized under the theme “New Beginnings: Nurturing Learning Culture, Building Resilience, Promoting Sustainability. Stronger, Bolder, Better Education by Design”, has begun its work. The forum, which will be held in London will discuss the main challenges facing global education in 2023 and how to address them. The forum will also address the learning process, understanding between people, institutions, and educational systems. Sessions will discuss policies designed to develop knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values, the importance of leadership and technological support for key educational goals. The agenda for the general education discussions will also reflect the sustainability of education, the process of understanding it and its contribution to global sustainability. It should be noted that our country is represented at the World Education Forum by a delegation headed by the Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev. Under the forum, Emin Amrullayev is scheduled to speak on the topic "What role does education play in the development of sustainability and what role does sustainability play in the development of education systems?" at the 7th plenary session. In addition, it is planned to hold bilateral business meetings with the participation of the Minister of Science and Education of Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijani students win success at the 57th International Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad
The 57th International Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad was organized in Astana city, Kazakhstan. The representatives from over 20 countries participated in the Olympiad, which consisted of theoretical and practical parts. Our national team successfully participated in the Knowledge Olympiad and won another medal for our country. Deniz Sattarli, a 11th grade student of the Baku Turkish Lyceum of Turkiye Diyanet Foundation, was awarded a bronze medal. In addition, the organizers of the Olympiad presented a special gift to Hamid Khalilov, a 11th grade student of the Ganja physics- mathematics and informatics biased lyceum. We congratulate our students and wish them success in their subsequent competitions!

President Ilham Aliyev viewed construction works in school being built in Fuzuli as gift on behalf of Uzbekistani people
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva have examined the construction works in a 960-seat school being built in Fuzuli as a gift by President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on behalf of the Uzbekistani people. The head of state and the First Lady were informed of the progress of construction works. The construction of the two-storey school, which occupies an area of three hectares, started last year, and will end this December. Cooperation between ADA University and George Washington University expands
At the meeting, ADA University Rector Hafiz Pashayev said that the initial collaboration with George Washington University on the dual degree program is expanding as a result of the successful implementation of the program and the support of partners. Announcing the enrollment of six different groups of students in the dual degree program, Mr. Hafiz Pashayev said, "It is encouraging that we are moving to a new 4+1 format of cooperation with George Washington University. This format will allow students to obtain a bachelor's degree from ADA University and a master's degree from George Washington University. In his speech, Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev emphasized that the dual diploma program will be useful in training local personnel. The minister also added that in addition to training competitive young people, dual degree programs have also contributed to improving the professionalism of teachers, the implementation of joint research projects and the development of universities. Abzatdin Adamov, Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology and Engineering at ADA University, shared the results of the implementation of the dual degree program so far. Speaking of the importance of expanding global collaboration for George Washington University, Dean John Luck said ADA University has a special place in that collaboration. Representatives of George Washington University noted, in their turn, that dual degree programs strengthen university-industry partnerships and promote international exchange of experience. Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Farid Ahmedov and BP Vice President for Communications and External Relations in the Caspian Region Bakhtiyar Aslanbeyli shared their recommendations on implementation of double diploma programs.
