Moroccan Princess visits educational complex No. 132-134
On 7 May, Princess Lalla Hasnaa of the Kingdom of Morocco, President of the Foundation for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage of Rabat, visited the educational complex No. 132-134 as part of her working visit to Azerbaijan. The event was attended by Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev, Deputy Minister of Culture Murad Huseynov, Head of the International Relations Department of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, MP Soltan Mammadov, Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication of the Kingdom of Morocco Mohammed Mehdi Bensaid, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Morocco to Azerbaijan Mohamed Adil Embarch, Secretary General of the Rabat Cultural Heritage Preservation Foundation Nouzha Alaoui, as well as other officials, and the school staff. Speaking at the event, Emin Amrullayev, Minister of Science and Education, noted that the twinning program launched today between Educational Complex No. 132–134, a UNESCO Associated Schools Network member, and Rabat’s Oum El Banine School paves the way for a new stage of cooperation based on cultural exchange, shared values, and educational collaboration. The Minister underlined that this initiative, implemented in partnership with the Rabat Cultural Heritage Preservation Foundation, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Ministry of Science and Education and the Ministry of Culture, will cover five schools in Baku and Rabat from the next academic year. The Minister said that this initiative will not only encourage students to explore, preserve and share their cultural heritage but also strengthen cultural dialogue among them. The students presented the educational program “I discover my heritage – Baku,” which is the foundation of the twinning program, while the participants watched a video message addressed by the students of the Oum El Banine School. As a part of the visit, Moroccan Princess Lalla Hasnaa also familiarized herself with the teaching process in the classrooms, engaged in conversation with the students, and watched their presentations. At the same time, the history museum of the school was presented, where information about the history of Azerbaijan was presented. The event concluded with an exhibition of paintings dedicated to the eminent monuments of the cities of Rabat and Baku prepared by the students, as well as a concert program and commemorative group photos.

The Deputy Minister of Science and Education visits the Syrian Arab Republic as a member of the Azerbaijani delegation
On 4 May, an Azerbaijani delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Samir Sharifov visited the Syrian Arab Republic. Deputy Minister Kenan Kerimzadeh represented the Ministry of Science and Education in the delegation. In accordance with the assignment of the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, the visit was aimed at supporting the reconstruction and development of Syria and exploring opportunities for cooperation with the current transitional government of the country in various fields, including economy, energy, culture, and education. Within the framework of the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation was received by Ahmad al-Sharaa, the President of the Syrian Arab Republic for the transitional period. During the meeting, the sides also exchanged views on the directions of possible support of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the recovery and reconstruction process initiated by Syria. As part of the visit, Deputy Minister of Science and Education Kenan Kerimzadeh met with Minister of Higher Education of the Syrian Arab Republic Marwan al-Halabi. During the meeting, the prospects for further cooperation between the educational institutions of the two countries were discussed.

Deputy Minister of Science and Education Hasan Hasanli addresses the 7th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission
Deputy Minister of Science and Education Hasan Hasanli, as a member of the delegation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, participated in the 7th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland held in London. Addressing the meeting, the Deputy Minister briefed the participants on the current state of cooperation between the two countries in the field of science and education. Hasan Hasanli underlined the significant number of students studying in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and noted the contribution of state and double degree programmes to the development of cooperation in the field of education between the countries. In addition, the Deputy Minister of Science and Education touched on a number of important issues in his speech, such as exploring the possibilities of cooperation in the field of STEAM education and digital assessment and developing cooperation between scientific and higher education institutions. The meeting also included a detailed exchange of views on the possibilities of cooperation in trade, economy, health and other spheres, at the end of which the minutes of the 7th meeting of the Joint Commission were signed. The minutes of the meeting also reflected the issues related to the prospects of developing cooperation in the field of science and education between the two countries.

‘Study in Azerbaijan’ educational exhibition held in Uzbekistan
An educational exhibition called “Study in Azerbaijan” was organized in Tashkent from 27 to 31 May to expand cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan in the field of science and higher education. The exhibition was held during the visit of the Deputy Minister of Science and Education, Idris Isayev, and the rectors of higher education institutions to Uzbekistan. This exhibition is an important step towards fulfilling the tasks set out in the protocol of the 13th meeting of the Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Intergovernmental Commission. Seventeen higher education institutions represented our country at the exhibition. At the stands of Azerbaijani universities, participants were provided with detailed information on educational opportunities in various subjects, scholarship programs and student life in Azerbaijan. The opening ceremony was attended by the First Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovations of Uzbekistan, Shahrukh Daliyev; the Deputy Minister of Science and Education of Azerbaijan, Idris Isayev; and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Uzbekistan, Huseyn Guliyev. The speakers emphasized the importance of cooperation between the two countries in the context of the internationalization of science and higher education, and expressed confidence that the exhibition would contribute to the development of educational and cultural ties. It should be noted that the exhibition's primary objective is to foster intercultural ties, promote student exchange, and boost the enrolment of foreign students in Azerbaijan.

Another success of our students
Our national team successfully participated in the 42nd Balkan Mathematical Olympiad in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, April 25-30, winning a total of 3 medals, including 1 silver and 2 bronze. Thus, the silver medal was awarded to the 9th-grade student of Lyceum No. 287 "Zekalar" of Baku city, Farhad Iskander, and the bronze medals were awarded to the 10th-grade student of Sumgait Lyceum biased in natural sciences, Davud Tarverdili, and the 11th-grade student of Baku Lyceum biased in physics, mathematics, and computer science, Yunis Isayev. It should be noted that since 2007 our students participating in the Balkan Mathematical Olympiad have won a total of 1 gold, 19 silver and 40 bronze medals.

Deputy Minister of Science and Education Idris Isayev participated in the Hungarian-Turkic summit
On April 28-29, Deputy Minister of Science and Education Idris Isayev attended the Hungarian-Turkic Summit on Culture, Higher Education and Innovation in Budapest, Hungary. The opening speech was held by the Hungarian Minister of Culture and Innovation Balázs Hanko. The Minister informed about the Hungarian higher education system and touched upon the issues of potential cooperation with Hungarian universities. Within the framework of the Summit, Deputy Minister of Science and Education Idris Isayev spoke at a panel discussion on education entitled "The Power of Regional Cooperation - Close Cooperation between Turkic States and Hungary". During his speech, the Deputy Minister informed about the current cooperation of the Republic of Azerbaijan with Hungary and the Organization of Turkic States in the field of science and education and made proposals on the future development prospects. Idris Isayev also emphasized that the Republic of Azerbaijan attaches great importance to strategic partnership in the field of science and the importance of establishing joint programs, research groups and information exchange systems in these fields with other Turkic-speaking states and Hungary. At the end of the event, the declaration "On Cooperation between Turkic-speaking states and Hungary in the field of Higher Education, Innovation and Culture" was signed.

Deputy Minister of Science and Education Hasan Hasanli attends the opening of the STEAM Center in Uzbekistan
Deputy Minister of Science and Education Hasan Hasanli took part in the opening ceremony of the newly established STEAM Center in Tashkent, Republic of Uzbekistan, with the support of the Azerbaijani state. Speaking at the opening of the STEAM Center created on the basis of Azerbaijan's experience at the National Institute of Pedagogical Mastery named after Abdullah Avloni, the deputy minister emphasized the importance of implementing joint projects and exchanging experience with Uzbekistan in this direction. Minister of Preschool and General Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan Hilola Umarova also delivered a speech and highly appreciated Azerbaijan's experience in the field of STEAM, noting that expansion of cooperation in this direction and implementation of joint initiatives will be useful for the education systems of both countries. It was noted that the existing facilities of the Center, which consist of a total of 9 laboratories, conference rooms and administrative offices, will play an important role in introducing modern capabilities and innovations in education. With the help of these facilities, it will be possible to develop creative thinking skills in preschool and elementary school students through project-based learning tools. Within the framework of the visit, the deputy minister also visited the National Institute of Pedagogical Mastery named after Abdullah Avloni in Tashkent, where he familiarized himself with the expositions and the memorial museum, and visited the library and training laboratories of the Institute.
