The first stage of the Republican contest “Electronic Education” has been completed
941 projects have been submitted for the first stage of the contest. 41 of them have not been accepted because they didn't conform to the conditions of the contest. Eventually, 900 projects have been received for the contest. 545 of them have been sent by teachers and 355 of have been sent by pupils. The projects have been submitted to the Expert Commission in order to evaluate on the basis of the criteria established for the second stage. The results of the second stage and the names of nominees will be announced at the end of November this year. It should be noted that the contest, dedicated to the use of information technology in education, has been organized in 6 categories on the directions of "Teacher" and "Student". The purpose of the contest is to provide support for the activities of teachers who actively use information technology in the teaching process, to promote the best electronic teaching aids among a wide audience of users, to inform the educational community of the country about the new teaching methods implemented by using the possibilities of the internet, to seek new forms of ICT application for teaching purposes, to expand the use of electronic resources in educational institutions, to motivate teachers and pupils to create electronic resources and to use the available resources. The contest has been attended by the teaching staff of general education institutions, the Methodist experts of institutions engaged in advanced training and retraining of teaching staff, as well as the pupils. Laptops, tablets, printers and other special prizes will be presented to winners. The contest is supported by "Dr. Web "," AzEduNet "," Ultra ", the Additional Education Center for "Innovative Technologies in Education", "Edumedia Azerbaijan" and "Nar Mobile". It should be noted that in general, more than 5000 projects have been submitted so far for the contest organized since 2010.

“Temiz Sheher” (“Clean City”) Center was put into operation
On November 5, the opening ceremony of “Temiz Sheher” (“Clean City”) Center was held at Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction. The trainings on the theme of environment and waste management will be held by employees of “Clean City” Open Joint-Stock Company and other specialists for students of Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction at “Temiz Sheher” (“Clean City”) Center. Gulchohra Mammadova, Rector of Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction, welcomed the guests and noted that “Temiz Sheher” (“Clean City”) Center would play an important role in the preparation of specialists in the field of environmental protection and waste management. Speaking at the event, Jeyhun Bayramov, Deputy Minister of Education, said that numerous projects were being implemented in the direction of personnel training on the priority fields. Speaking about the core activities of educational institutions in this direction, J. Bayramov emphasized that “Clean City” Open Joint-Stock Company paid special attention to this field and it was so praiseworthy. Cooperative relationships in the field of education are expanding between Azerbaijan and Iran
Mikayil Jabbarov, Minister of Education of the Azerbaijan Republic, met with his Iranian counterpart Ali Asghar Fani within the framework of the 38th session of UNESCO General Conference. The Iranian Minister noted that the President of Iran attached great importance to bilateral relations with neighboring countries. He also touched upon the relations in the field of education and invited his Azerbaijani counterpart to pay a visit to Iran. Speaking about the ancient historical relations between the two countries, Mikayil Jabbarov, Minister of Education of the Azerbaijan Republic, noted that the Azerbaijani government was interested in strengthening bilateral relations with neighboring countries except Armenia. Touching upon the relations in the field of education, the Minister noted that last year, the Rector of University of Tehran was invited to the 95th anniversary of Baku State University and the cooperation agreement was signed between the two universities within the framework of the visit. Mikayil Jabbarov underlined that Azerbaijani youth had the opportunity to continue their education at leading universities around the world within the framework of the State Program on education abroad, which was adopted in 2007. The next "Flag march" with the organizational support of the Ministry of Education
The Ministry of Education will hold the "Flag march" on the occasion of State Flag Day of Azerbaijan on November 7, at 11: 00. The "Flag march" will be attended by employees of the Ministry of Education, university rectors, MPs, well-known intellectuals, teachers, media leaders, NGO representatives, pupils and students of general education, extracurricular education, primary vocational education, specialized secondary education and higher education institutions of Azerbaijan. The main purpose of the march is to popularize our national attributes and introduce historical state symbols of Azerbaijan in the State Flag Museum to participants. The route of "Flag march" is considered to start from "Azneft" Square to National Flag Square.

The meeting of Education Ministers was held within the framework of UNESCO General Conference
On November 4, the high-level meeting of Education Ministers was held within the framework of the 38th session of UNESCO General Conference. During the meeting, they touched on the issue of educational development and adopted the draft budget for next year. Mikayil Jabbarov, Minister of Education, who represented our country at the event, touched upon the Incheon Declaration in his speech and said that it was an important step in the process of international cooperation in the field of educational development. He also noted that it was necessary to consolidate efforts in the field of education for sustainable development. The adoption of "Education - 2030 Action Plan" shows that the successful joint efforts will be applied. M.Jabbarov mentioned that such steps once again clearly demonstrated the effectiveness of UNESCO and he emphasized the importance of finding innovative ways, with new enthusiasm. He mentioned that the educational development was the best tool in the fight against poverty and extremism and the key to solving many problems facing humanity. Emphasizing that active steps are being taken to implement the new reforms in the field of education in our country, Mikayil Jabbarov noted that the "National Strategy for the Development of Education in the Republic of Azerbaijan" was the first document signed by President Ilham Aliyev after he was re-elected in October, 2013. Noting that the Action Plan of the Strategy is implemented, the Minister spoke about the work done in order to implement the programs on the development of children in accordance with the efficient education model. In his speech, the Minister touched on the issue of reading, writing and teaching, as well as the issue of implementation of inclusive education. The Minister said that despite the difficult situation resulting from continuous occupation of our territories by Armenian armed forces, the government of Azerbaijan invested a huge amount of money in the education sector and about 70 percent of schools was overhauled and rebuilt in the country. He also underlined that over the last ten years, hundreds of schools were constructed in order to ensure the right to education for the children of refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs). These facts and figures show that the main objective of the Azerbaijani state is to create the best educational environment for its citizens. At the end of his speech, Mikayil Jabbarov said, "A child uneducated is a child lost. To lose a child is to lose the future," and once again emphasized the importance of education. The working visit of the Minister of Education to the Republic of France
Mikayil Jabbarov, Minister of Education of the Azerbaijan Republic, continues his working visit to the Republic of France. During the visit, the meeting was held with Qian Tang, UNESCO's Assistant Director-General, on November 3. Mikayil Jabbarov underlined the positive development of relations between Azerbaijan and UNESCO, and the role of Azerbaijan's first lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva in this field. The second countrywide knowledge competition entitled "Heydar Aliyev and the history of Azerbaijan" will be held.
On November 10, the second countrywide knowledge competition entitled "Heydar Aliyev and the history of Azerbaijan" will be held among students at the Heydar Aliyev Center. The project, implemented with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Center and the Ministry of Education, is aimed to study life and activities of National Leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev, to keep alive the legacy of the great leader and to promote his legacy among the younger generation. The teams consisting of bachelor's and master's degree students, studying at higher education institutions in Azerbaijan, will take part in the competition. A total of 46 teams, with one team from each university, will compete in the competition. Each participating team will have 6 main and 2 reserve members. The competition will consist of 3 rounds and 12 questions will be submitted in each of them. The questions will cover topics related to the childhood and youth of the great leader Heydar Aliyev, the years when he worked at State security bodies and functioned as the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Azerbaijan, Moscow and Nakhchivan period of Heydar Aliyev's political activity, as well as the years when independent Azerbaijan was headed by the national leader. The winning team will be determined on the basis of the total points earned in rounds. First-, second- and third-place teams will be awarded. It should be noted that on the eve of competition, all the teams visit the Heydar Aliyev Center in order to prepare for competition. During these visits, students will get familiar with the Heydar Aliyev Museum functioning in the Center, obtain information about the life and activities of the national leader and conduct research on the basis of photos and videos, and other rich archival materials. Recall that the first countrywide knowledge competition entitled "Heydar Aliyev and the history of Azerbaijan" was held at the Heydar Aliyev Center on November 12, 2014. The teams of Baku Slavic University, Academy of the Ministry of National Security named after Heydar Aliyev and Lankaran State University won first, second, and third places, respectively, in the first knowledge competition.

The opening of the Department at the University in France
The Department of Literature and Culture named after Nizami Ganjavi was opened at the University of Upper Alsace in Mulhouse, France. At the ceremony, Christian Ziegler Gangloff, Rector of the University of Upper Alsace, spoke about friendly relations between Mulhouse and various Azerbaijani towns, as well as existing relationships between the University, headed by him, and universities in Ganja. Greta Komur, Dean of the Faculty of Literature and Humanities at the University of Upper Alsace, noted that she was proud of the opening of the Department of Literature and Culture named after great Azerbaijani poet and thinker Nizami Ganjavi at the Faculty, headed by him. Greta Komur noted that the main objective of the Faculty is to study the impact of works of Nizami Ganjavi on Eastern and European culture and to explore the interactions between the cultures of Europe and Azerbaijan. She also touched upon the relations between the two countries in the field of literature. Speaking at the event, Jean-Marie Bockel, member of the French Senate, President of Mulhouse Alsace Agglomeration, said that he is a friend of Azerbaijan and the occupation of our historical territories by neighboring country is unacceptable. The Minister also noted that education plays a key role in establishing relationships based on mutual understanding and respect among the countries and nations in the twenty-first century. He emphasized that President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attaches special importance to the development of education in the country. He noted that the future, development and success of every country and every nation depend on the human factor and well-educated and knowledgeable youth. The Minister mentioned that the principle of “turning black gold into the human capital”, put forward by the head of state, and in this context, the initiative of allocating state scholarships for the education of educated and skilled youth of Azerbaijan in leading universities of foreign countries reflected the importance of education in the country. Noting that one of the factors that are of particular importance in the development of education is the sharing of good practices with foreign countries and the implementation of joint initiatives on the basis of mutual benefit, the Minister said that the partnership between Azerbaijan and France was considered exemplary in this regard. Pointing out that the Baku French Lyceum has already begun to operate, the Minister mentioned that the preparatory work on the project on establishment of the French-Azerbaijani University was carried out at the initiative of the heads of both countries and this project was expected to function successfully starting from the next academic year.
