Nazirlər Şurasının 30 iyun 1918-ci il tarixli qərarı ilə Xalq Maarifi Nazirliyinin üç şöbədən (ümumi orta təhsil, ali və orta ixtisas təhsili, peşə məktəbləri) ibarət strukturu təsdiq olunub.

Azərbaycan SSR Xalq Komissarları Sovetinin 28 aprel 1920-ci il tarixli qərarı ilə Xalq Maarifi Nazirliyinin adı dəyişdirilərək Xalq Maarifi Komissarlığı adı ilə yenidən təşkil edilib və ölkədəki bütün təhsil müəssisələri bu qurumun tabeliyinə verilib.

Education is the future of the nation!

On June 17, the audition presentation on the theme of “Azerbaijan: access to education and quality education” presented by Lire Ersado, the representative of the World Bank, took place at the Ministry of Education.

Opening the event, Education Minister, Misir Mardanov noted the cooperation established between the Ministry of Education and the World Bank during the last years, and reforms carried out in the education system. Afterwards, he has asked to speak the representative of the World Bank.

Having thanked participants of presentation, Lire Ersado informed them on the Azerbaijan living conditions assessment report. She underlined that in Azerbaijan were taken significant measures for improvement standards of living, noted the economic growth in the country and realization of measures for poverty reduction. Moreover, the guest informed participants on other areas studied by them and the role of education in the improvement of living conditions of people. According to her, they are informed on achievements in these fields and implemented works.

L. Ersado talked about problems existed in the pre-school and higher education area, enrolment rates to universities of Azerbaijan, and highlighted the necessity to put an increasing attention to this area in terms of human resources development.

Afterwards, slides, which illustrated the expenditure on education, participation of Azerbaijani students in the PISA program, use of educational materials by teachers and other issues have been shown.

Minister Mardanov expressed his attitude about certain issues mentioned in the presentation. Moreover, he noted works carried out in the direction to improve the educational level. Having underlined the importance of education’s quality, the Minister talked about provided measures in this direction, as well as expressed his opinions on the importance of initial vocational training development.
