The Minister of Education Jeyhun Bayramov visited the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industrial University to commemorate the victims of the terrorist attack happened at this university 10 years ago. The minister met with relatives of the victims. He commemorated the victims with deep respect and laid flowers in front of the memorial desk. Jeyhun Bayramov asked for God's mercy to those who died during the bloody murder and gave deep condolences to the family members.

On April 26, at the Embassy of Azerbaijan the Education Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Azerbaijani students studying in China. Rector of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industrial University Mustafa Babanli also attended the meeting. Talking about the special attention to young people studying abroad the Minister expressed hope that each student will represent our country worthily. He also spoke about the development of relations between two countries in the field of education. After, Jeyhun Bayramov answered the questions of the students. According to the agreement between the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China on education for 2016-2019, 53 Azerbaijani students are studying in China's higher educational institutions on different specialties, as well as 108 Chinese citizens in Azerbaijani higher educational institutions.

First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva has visited the orphanage-kindergarten No 229 in Buzovna settlement and a foreign languages gymnasium named after Suleyman Rustam and Lachin district school No 32 temporarily based in the second block of the gymnasium in Mardakan settlement, Khazar district. Mehriban Aliyeva first visited the orphanage-kindergarten No 229 in Buzovna settlement. Principal of the 75-seat orphanage-kindergarten Ellada Salimova informed First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva of the preschool educational institution. The orphanage-kindergarten was built in 1836, and last repair works were carried out here in 2006-2007. Children aged from 2 to 6 in four groups are served by a 27-strong staff here. Principal of the gymnasium Anvar Mustafayev informed Mehriban Aliyeva that commissioned in 1960, the gymnasium has never undergone a major overhaul. The educational institution has been operating as the foreign languages gymnasium since 2010. The two-block gymnasium has 50 classrooms, a gym, assembly hall and workshops. First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva toured the classrooms. The gymnasium currently enrolls 609 pupils who are served by nearly 70 teachers. It offers classes in English, Arabic, Persian and Russian languages. On April 25, the Ministry of Education held a meeting with the leaders of Cisco. The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Education Idris Isayev, Education Adviser Hasan Hasanli, Head of Informatization Department of Education Vusal Khanlarov, Cisco Vice President Kim Didrix, vice-president of company for Russia and CIS countries Jonathan Sperou, company's regional manager Vladimir Orlov and " Cisco Innovation Director in Azerbaijan Ramil Eyyubov. The sides discussed the achievements in Azerbaijan, further development and new opportunities of cooperation with Cisco. It was noted that within the Azerbaijan Education Network there was close cooperation with Cisco. Through the solutions provided by Cisco, IP-telephony, videoconferencing and educational platforms were established at educational institutions. It was also noted that at present there are 13 Cisco Network Academies in Azerbaijan. Five of them are functioning in higher education institutions and others in private institutions. Academies provide training on basics of IT technologies and operating systems, Internet access, programming, network technology, network and cyber security. Speaking at the event, Deputy Education Minister Idris Isayev said that, according to the "State Education Development Strategy", one of the main priorities is to create a unified national education environment and to provide quality of education for all social groups of population, using modern information and communication technologies in the country. In this regard, in recent years the Ministry of Education has done extensive work in the field of informatization of management in the education system, the development of ICT infrastructure, the application of e-learning technologies and capacity building. A special attention is paid to the establishment of cooperation between the public and private sectors. The sides discussed joint projects and further development of the cooperation.

On April 25, Education Minister Jeyhun Bayramov participated in the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in Beijing, China. The Minister made a speech at thematic forum entitled "Relations between nations" organized within the framework of the program. During his speech Jeyhun Bayramov informed the participants on the reforms carried out in all areas of education within the State Strategy for Education Development in the Republic of Azerbaijan, the goals and objectives of the State Program on raising the international competitiveness of the higher education system in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019-2023, activities in the field of education to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, as well as the cooperation between two countries in the field of education. The "Digital Skills" – a joint pilot project of the Ministry of Education and International Algorithmic Company, was presented at The Moscow International Education Fair (MIEF) 2019 on April 10. Deputy Minister of Education Firudin Gurbanov got acquainted with the stand at the exhibition. Representatives from educational institutions of several countries were interested in the project stand. Fakhri Gurbanov, head of the Digital Skills project, and Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Algoritmika International Education Company Andrey Lobanov participated in panel discussions and roundtables, which were held within the framework of the program. Moscow International Education Fair is the largest event in the field of education among CIS. The topic of the MIEF 2019 is "New Subjectivity of  the Education”. According to organizers, about 650 events were held at the International Education Center-2019. Totally more than 1000 experts, 400 exponents and about 50,000 visitors came together at the exhibition. 37 members from 28 international delegations attended Moscow International Education Fair in 2019. It should be mentioned that the project "Digital Skills" is being implemented since 2017. The project covers 65 schools in Baku, 6 schools in Ganja, 2 private educational institutions, as well as more than 26 thousand students.
