Leaders of relevant structural sections of The Ministry of Education explained the provisions envisaged in the Action Plan on the issues related to creation of personality-oriented education content based on competence, formation of highly influential educators and new management system, creation of infrastructure that ensures lifelong learning and new financing mechanisms and other issues in the conference. Priorities have been delivered again within framework of “State Strategy on development of education in the Azerbaijan Republic”, also detailed information given on performed actions in the event. Finally, the officials of The Ministry of Education responded several questions of the journalists.

57 teams from 15 teams took part in the olympiad organized by The Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhistan, Almaty Physics-mathematics “İstedadlar” lyceum, “DARIN” science centre. Azerbaijan was represented by 3 teams that consist of 19 persons in the event. Pupils competed as teams on th subjects of mathematics, physics and informatics in the olympiad where up to 400 pupils took part. Azerbaijan pupils achieved successful results on the subjects of mathematics and phyiscs. Muhammad Shirinov, pupil of X grade of Baku “İstək” lyceum kept 2 nd place and silver meda, Tahir Nadirov, pupil of X grade of Guba “İstək” lyceum kept 3 rd place and bronze medal in the olympiad held on the subject of mathematics. Sabuhi Mikayilov, pupil of IX grade of Guba “İstək” lyceum kept 3 rd place and has been awarded to bronze medal on the subject of physics. It should be noted that, “İstək” lyceum is functioning by adding international programs under curriculum approved by The Ministry of Education and ensures particpation of the pupils in the knowledge and logic olympiades regularly.

Citizens mostly appealed on recruitment of the teachers or replacement of the teachers from one work place to other one also from one region to other one, restoration to the work, recognition of education documents, transfer of higher and secondary education students from one educational institution to other one, study fee and other issues in the reception held in accordance with citizens reception schedule of the leaders of central executive powers in the town and regions for january, 2015.    Appeal of 57 citizens has been listened and most issues settled immediately. Relevant bodies of the ministry have been instructed related to several appeals. Appeals of some citizens that are beyond of ministry’s power or bear personal character, have been recorded and controlled in order to deliver in the attention of relevant bodies.

Generally, 1472 pupils on X and XI grades took part in this phase. According to contest’s results, 684 pupils achieved right to take part in the zone phase.  Date of zone phase of contest will be announced by The Ministry of Education in the near future. Organization of zone phase in the centers determined by The Organization Committee, is envisaged. Centers will be selected through general education institutions located in the different regions of republic. Pupils to be participated in the zone phase, will be determined by the decision of Organization Committee under the results of first phase. Questions will be compiled in relatively complicated close test and open type format in this phase. Pupils will be given 4 hours for responding of 30 questions. Republic phase of qualification round will be organized in the Baku branch of Moscow State University named after M.V.Lomonosov. Pupils to be participated in this phase, will be determined by the decision of Organization Committee taking into account the results of zone phase. Pupils will respond 20 complicated close test and open type questions. It should be noted that, 47th International Chemistry Olympiad where more than 300 pupils from 80 countries will take part, will be held from july 20 to 29 in Baku. International Chemistry Olympiad has been held by participation of 5 countries first time in Czechoslovakia (present Czech Republic) in 1968. 46th olympiad held in 2013, has been organized by participation of 300 pupils from 75 countries in Hanoi, Vietnam. Azerbaijan pupils have been taking in this olympiad since 2002 and they achieved generally 24 medals including 5 gold, 5 silver, 14 bronze medals. Pupils took part on the nominations of recitation, dramatized scenes and drawing in the contest held among VII-XI grade pupils of secondary chools. Winners of I, II and III places on every nomination, have been awarded to the diploma of The Ministry of Education. Congratulating the winners, Vasif Mammadov acting head of department of non-school activity of The Ministry of Education stated that, goal of contest is to introduce rich life and activity of famous russian poet Mikhail Lermontov who lived in XIX century to young generation more closely, also raise interest to his heritage.

Trainings, at the same time the tournaments have been conducted in the Baku, Sumgait, Shaki, Ganja, Lankaran and Shamkir cities within framework of project implemented by purpose to execute relevant item of “State Program on struggle against illegal trafficiking of the drugs, its psychotropic substances and precursors and drug addiction for 2013-2018”. Pupils have been informed about strong life style, also they achieved primary knowledges through using interactive teaching methods within framework of the trainings. Expert trainings on the topic of “Strong life” have been organized by Parvin Mammadov, department head of Republic Drug Testing Center and debate trainings by “Debate in the Civil Society” Public Union.  “Republic Inerscchools Debate Forum 2014” has been organized after series of training and tournaments. Team of 60 schools from Baku, Sumgait, Ganja, Shaki, Lankaran, Shamkir cities took part in the Forum. As a result of the tournaments, “Debal” team of Baku European Lyceum and “Kommunikadze” team of secondary school No.1 of Sumgait city achieved right to struggle in the final phase.      Final game of forum and awarding ceremony will be organized on january 29 in the Azerbaijan State Economic University.

21183 pupils took part in the region-town phase of olympiad. According to final results, 740 pupils achived success on the subject of Azerbaijan language, 715 pupils on history, 671 pupils on geography, 452 pupils on biology, 393 pupils on physics, 334 pupils on mahematics, 151 pupils on chemistry, 79 pupils on informatics. Thus, 3535 pupils achieved right to take part on all subjects in the semi-final round of republic phase. It should be noted that, semi-final round of olympiads’ republic phase will be organized on the zones on march.

As a result of the tournaments, “Debal” Baku European Lyceum and “Kommunikadze” of secondary school No.  of Sumgait achieved right to struggle in the final. Final game held after official speeches. Winning his rival, “Debal” team of Baku European Lyceum was awarded to “Strong life” Cup. Jury announced winners’ names on the nomination of “the best orator”. Umid Mahmudov pupil of Baku European Lyceum kept I place, Chinara Mustafayeva pupil of secondary school no of Shaki city II place, Nihad Aliyev pupil of Baku European Lyceum III place on this nomination.

Contest will be organized by The Ministry of Education, The Ministry of Youth and Sport, Heydar Aliyev Center, Republic Committee of Free Trade Union of Education Workers.  Main goal of contest is to allow upper grade pupils demonstrate their scientifical achievements and determine the candidates to be participated in the Intel ISEF– International Science and Engineering exhibition organized every year in the USA. This contest is qualification round for most prestigious international event held among the pupils in the world. Submission of 106 scientific project of 200 pupils in the contest is expected. 67 of them have been compiled in collective form,  but 39 in individual form. Author of 3 projects will obtain right to take part in Intel ISEF exhibition to be held on may in the Pittsburg city of state of Pennsylvania of USA.

Teachers to be selected under contest, will obtain right to take part in the new format and content training within framework of “Foundation” scholarship program. Participants will be acquainted with new approaches on the topics of age physiology and psychology, philosophy of primary education and learning theories, practical pedagogical skill and Information Communication Technologies literacy during 16 weeks. Trainees will take part in the final valuation. Participants who demonstrated satisfactory result in the examinations, will be awarded to certificate and training resources.     The Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan Republic invites primary schools teachers who educate in the IV grade of the schools functioning at Baku city to take part in the “Foundation” scholarship program.
