According to the order, actions plan of The Ministry of Education related to organization of 25th anniversary of January 20 tragedy has been approved. In accordance with actions plan, performance of wide actions dedicated to the memory of the martyrs who lost their life for freedom of Azerbaijan in the higher, pirmary vocational and secondary education, general education, boarding schools and non-school educational institutions on january 6-20, is envisaged.   Order of education minister of Azerbaijan Republic about celebration of 25th anniversary of January 20 tragedy.

By purpose to support in the reforms implemented by The Ministry of Education on schools’ management, course “Training for potential school directors on school’s management” will be conducted by UNICEF and Khazar University. Trainings that consist of seven modules, will be conducted for three month. Regular research topics on each module will be given, evaluations will be conducted. Persons who successfully completed training will be awarded to certificate. Furthermore, participants who want to continue their studies at master level in the Khazar University in future will be given five (ECTS) credits. Persons who obtained certificates  can take part in the contest to be held on the vacancies to be occurred to the position of the directors of secondary education institutions by The Ministry of Education. Awarding ceremony of the winners will be held on january 15. Pupils who achieved success in both individual and team score, will be awarded to valuable prizes. 34 schools of Baku and Sumgait have been represented in the contest held on the subject of mathematics. Being 3 persons from each VI, VII and VIII grades, these schools took part in the knowledge contest with team that consist of 9 pupils. 261 pupils from 29 schools on Baku and Sumgait cities in contests on he subject of physics, chemistry and biology. According to contest’s rules, being 3 persons from each VII, VIII and IX grades,  schools wee represented with team that consist of 9 pupils. Generally 531 pupils took part in the contests held on 3 phases in the physics-mathematics and informatics, chemistry and biology lyceums.

So, 60856 calls (4.7 times more than 2013) have been received by Call Center and nearly 35000 calls by Switchboard service. 58370 citizens have been served in Citizens Reception Center. Citizens mostly appealed on higher education (8668 appeals), international coopration and study in abroad (7883), secondary education (8054), secondary specialty and primary vocational education (1544 appeals), as well as other issues (32221 appeals). Appeals received by Call Center and Citizens Reception Center have survey character. Most of them have been responded immediately and operatively. 11848 citizens have been registered in the reception of relevant officials of The Ministry of Education in electronic form according to their survey. In addition, 531 appeals have been received via mail, but 167 appeals via telegram and letter for registration in the reception of the officials. 13359 documents (6275 applications, 6139 letters, 945 other documents) have been received and registered by Citizens Reception Center. 404 appeals have been registered in the program of complaints’ registration and sent to relevant sections, departments, sectors.

Children’ registration in a new groups will be conducted till the end of january and the lessons will start. Lessons will be continued till the end of june in these groups. Now, 1907 children have been involved in the preparation groups functioning at 89 schools under Baku City Education Department. 142 teachers are working at the groups reahced to 145. 118 groups have been established on Azerbaijan section, 27 on russian section. Number of students on Azerbaijan section is 1579, but russian section is 328 persons. Main goal of training groups functioning for 4 days during week is to train children for teaching, acclimatization of them to teaching process in advance, obtaining of certain knowledges. Lessons have been assigned in primary school teachers who are experienced, competent at the same time obtained higher result in Test Assessment of Teachers in the preschool groups that have important character as the first step made in the education. Mentioned groups have been established under the orders “About organization of pilot preschool groups in the secondary schools” of The Minstry of Education and “About organization and activity of preschool groups” of Baku City Education Department.

Trainings have been organized in accordance with relevant item of “State Program on struggle against drug addiction and illegal trafficing of the drugs, psychotropic substances and its precursors for 2013-2018”. Within framework of project initially the trainings have been conducted on the topic of “Strong life style” in the Shaki, Ganja and Shamkir. Up to 150 pupils from 30 schools took part in the trainings. Pupils have been taught primary knowledges through interactive teaching methods in the trainings conducted by Parvin Mammadov, sector head of Republic Drug Testing Center, also they have been informed about strong life style. The next trainings will be conducted for the pupils of the secondary schools located in Baku, Sumgait and Lankaran cities. Pupils will take part in the debate trainings and then debate tournaments in the next phase of project. Pupils who obtain successful result in the debate tournaments and winner teams will be awarded. Generally, goal of “Republic Interschools Debate Forum 2014” is to perform the issues of enlightenment on strong life style among the pupils who study and live in the different regions of Azerbaijan through debate-education methodology.

Subject olympiades that surround 12 regions of capital, have been organized at the secondary schools no. 3, 18, 42, 95, 96, 114, 138, 139, 160, 181, 220, 235, 258, 276. Generally 3473 pupils took part in this phase of olympiad lasted for three hours. City phase of subject olympiades has been organized by test method for the first time in this year.

Up to 80 countries will take part in the olympiad envisaged to be held by Organizational Committee of International Chemistry Olympiad. By purpose to organize 47 th International Chemistry Olympiad at higher level, relevant order has been signed by The Ministry of Education. Organizational Committee has been established by chairmanship of professor Nargiz Pashayeva, rector of Baku branch of Moscow State University (MSU) named after M. V. Lomonosov. At the same time, rules on selection of the candidates to national team to be participated in the 47 th International Chemistry Olympiad, have been approved. According to the rules, by purpose to select the candidates to national team to be participated in the olympiad, qualification rounds on the subject of chemistry among the pupils of the secondary institutions will be held. X- XI grade pupils will be involved in the qualification rounds. Winners of final round of qualification phases will take part in the training lessons to International Chemistry Olympiad to be organized in the Baku branch of Moscow State University (MSU) named after M. V. Lomonosov.   Qualification rounds consist of region (city), zone and republic rounds. Questions on each of rounds will be prepared by the specialists of Baku branch of Moscow State University named after M.V.Lomonosov. First qualification round will be organized on january 18, 2015. 30 quqestions will be presented to the pupils in this round and 3 hours will be given for response. Questions will be prepared according to school program on the grades in the close test form. Zone round is envisaged to be held by Organizational Committee in the determined centers. Centers will be selected among the secondary education institutions located in the different regions of republic. Pupils to be participated in the zone phase will be determined by decision of Organizational Committee according to the results of the first phase. Questions will be prepared in the complicated close test and open type format in this phase. 4 hours will be allocated for the pupils for response of 30 hours. Republic phase of qualification round will be held in the Baku branch of Moscow State University named after M. V. Lomonosov. Pupils to be participated on this phase, will be determined under decision of Organizational Committee taking into account the results of zone phase. Pupils will respond 20 complicated close test and open type questions. 4 hours will be allocated for them. Announcement of the results of republic phase is expected 5 days after completion of examination. Date of appeal will be determined after the definition of the results.  International Chemistry Olympiad has been held by participation of 5 countries for the first time in 1968 in the Czechoslovakia (present Czech Republic). Last- 46 th olympiad has been organized by 300 pupils from 75 countries in 2013 in the Hanoy, Vietnam. Azerbaijan pupils have been taking part in this olympiad since 2002 and  they generally achieved 24 medals including 5 gold, 5 silver, 14 bronze till today. Results of this phase will be announced within 15 days. 3473 pupils took part on Baku city in the olympiades but 20600 pupils on the regions. IX, X və XI grade pupils demonstrated their knowledges on the subjects of Azerbaijan language and literature, history, geography, mahtematics, physics, chemistry, biology and informatics. Tasks have been compiled by jury under school program in the form of close test questions. Number of the pupils who made interest to knowledge contest on the subjects of Azerbaijan language, literature and mathematics was more in the region (town) phase. Relatively few pupil took part in the olympiades on the subjects of informatics and biology. Pupils who achieved success in this phase, will take part in the semi final round of Republic phase.
