On July 18, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the opening ceremony of nursery-kindergarten No. 1, which has a capacity of 160 seats, in the city of Aghdam.   The construction of the nursery-kindergarten was carried out under the framework of the “First State Program on the Great Return to the Liberated Territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan.” Construction began last February.   In February of this year, President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva reviewed the progress of the construction.   The preschool facility is fully equipped to ensure children’s comfort and to support high-quality education and upbringing. The building includes playrooms, bedrooms, as well as music, dance, and sports halls.   Alongside the resettlement of the population in the liberated territories, consistent efforts are made to build preschool educational institutions. President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the inauguration of Aghdam city secondary school No. 1, designed to accommodate 960 students.   Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev briefed the President on the facilities established at the school.   The foundation of the school was laid by President Ilham Aliyev on May 28, 2021. In February of this year, the President and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva reviewed the construction progress.   Constructed as part of the “First State Program on the Great Return to the Liberated Territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan,” the school building comprises 43 classrooms, 16 administrative offices, and a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) center with seven rooms. It also features modern physics, chemistry, and biology laboratories, an informatics room, a pre-military training room, a library, a museum, a 352-seat canteen, a 468-seat assembly hall, two indoor sports halls, as well as a football pitch and basketball court for teachers and students.   Establishing a modern educational infrastructure in Karabakh remains a top priority. Under President Ilham Aliyev’s leadership, large-scale efforts are underway to restore and develop educational facilities across the liberated territories. The Ministry of Science and Education held a meeting with the management team of “Presight” company, one of the leading technology companies in the United Arab Emirates, which is part of the G42 group of companies. The meeting was attended by Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev, Chief Executive Officer at the “Presight” company, Thomas Pramotedham, and other representatives from both sides.   During the meeting, the “Presight” company presented solutions adapted for the education sector and based on innovative artificial intelligence technologies. The parties also exchanged views on activities carried out within the framework of current cooperation and the future prospects for its development.  One of the main topics of discussion was how to use the presented AI-based technological solutions to improve the “Digital School” platform.   Meeting participants emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation in the digitalization of education and application of innovative technologies.

Farhad Iskander, a 9th grade pupil of Baku Lyceum #287 ‘Zakyalar’, won a gold medal, Huseyn Zeynalov and Farrukh Burzu, 9th grade pupils of the Baku Turkish Lyceum of Türkiye Diyanet Foundation, won silver medals, Turan Musayev, a 9th grade pupil of Sheki Lyceum with chemical-biological bias, and Murad Safarli, a 9th grade pupil of Baku Lyceum with physical-mathematical and informatics bias, won bronze medals. A total of 5 medals were won: 1 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze.   It should be noted that Farhad Iskander, a member of the Azerbaijani team, who won the gold medal, solved all the tasks presented at the Olympiad and gained the maximum result, i.e. 40 points out of possible 40, for which he was awarded the nomination ‘First of first’ of the Olympiad.   Congratulations to our students and best wishes for their success.
