    Azərbaycan SSR Xalq Komissarları Sovetinin 28 aprel 1920-ci il tarixli qərarı ilə Xalq Maarifi Nazirliyinin adı dəyişdirilərək Xalq Maarifi Komissarlığı adı ilə yenidən təşkil edilib və ölkədəki bütün təhsil müəssisələri bu qurumun tabeliyinə verilib.

The Minister of Science and Education met with the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society president

On June 5, the Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev met with Dr. Novruz Aslanov, president of the Azerbaijani Red Crescent Society (AzRCS) and a member of the National Assembly.  Emin Amrullayev expressed satisfaction with the meeting and highly praised the humanitarian organization's work. He also praised the development of existing cooperation with the Ministry.  Novruz Aslanov, in his turn, thanked for the organization of the meeting. Recalling the existence of a Memorandum of Understanding between AzRCS and the Ministry of Science and Education, Novruz Aslanov noted the high level of cooperation between his organization and the Ministry.  During the meeting, particular attention was paid to organizing appropriate internships in AzRCS for students of public institutions of higher education, promoting traffic rules and road safety in educational institutions.  At the end of the meeting, Novruz Aslanov presented Emin Amrullayev with a commemorative medal dedicated to AzRCS' 100th anniversary.

Shusha hosts first international children's dance festival

International children's dance festival called "Heydar Aliyev – the great herald of the unity of the Turkic world" was held on June 1 in Shusha.    The festival between children's dance groups from Turkic-speaking countries took place under the organization of the Ministry of Science and Education.   Head of the Department of Humanitarian Policy, Diaspora, Multiculturalism and Religious Affairs of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan Farah Aliyeva, Deputy Prime Minister Ali Ahmedov, Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev, Minister of Culture Adil Kerimli, Chairman of the Milli Majlis (National Assembly) Committee on Science and Education Bakhtiar Aliyev, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Indira Hajiyeva, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs Sadagat Gahramanova attended the festival.   About 150 schoolchildren from Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan performed various dance numbers at the festival.   It should be mentioned that the purpose of the festival was to inform children and young people about the work done by the world-famous politician Heydar Aliyev concerning the Turkic world, introduce Azerbaijan to the young generation of Turkic-speaking countries, familiarize children with each other's national traditions, create conditions for them to properly represent the history and culture of their country, as well as introduce the participants to the fascinating beauty of the city of Shusha.

President laid foundation stone for school in city of Kalbajar

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has participated in the groundbreaking ceremony for the 960-seat school in the city of Kalbajar.   Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev informed the head of state on the work to be done.   The school will have 41 classrooms, IT, biology, chemistry, physics rooms, 8 labs, gyms, assembly hall, canteen etc.   The head of state laid a foundation stone for the 960-seat school in the city of Kalbajar.   https://president.az

Deputy Minister of Science and Education attends the 1st Ministerial Meeting of the OIC-15 Dialogue Platform

Deputy Minister of Science and Education Hasan Hasanli visited Kazakhstan to participate in a high-level meeting organized as part of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) -15 Dialogue Platform on Science and Technology.   On May 25, the Deputy Minister visited Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, located in Almaty, and familiarized himself with the opportunities created for students at the institution of higher education.   On May 26, Hasan Hasanli participated in a meeting chaired by Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek which brought together high-ranking representatives of education and science of member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.   Speaking during the meeting, the Deputy Minister informed the participants of the event about the steps being taken to develop science in our country and the goals set.   Touching upon the existing cooperation with the OIC in the field of science and education Hasan Hasanli stressed that Azerbaijan has allocated educational grants to citizens of member states of the OIC.   In addition, the Deputy Minister noted that the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan is interested in active participation in the dialogue platform on science and technology created as part of the OIC.

Baku State University and Israel's Hebrew University of Jerusalem sign agreement on dual diploma program

On May 24, Baku State University (BSU) and the Israel’s Hebrew University of Jerusalem (HUJI) signed an agreement on cooperation on a dual-degree program and joint research.   BSU Rector Elchin Babayev, who spoke at the ceremony, noted that the dual degree program will be the beginning of a new era of great scientific achievements and international cooperation for both universities. Thanks to the cooperation, BSU students will work directly with renowned Israeli professors and specialists. In addition to enhancing the students' academic experience, the program will also create new opportunities for cultural exchange and international communication.   In his turn, the Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev, who took part in the ceremony, said that this project is being implemented in accordance with the "State Program for increasing the international competitiveness of the higher education system of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2019-2023”. According to the minister, in accordance with the second direction of the State Double Diploma Program, during these years double diploma programs have been signed between several universities of Azerbaijan and universities of other countries. Under these programs, more than 1,000 citizens of Azerbaijan received diplomas from the most prestigious universities of the world without leaving the country.   The minister noted that the dual degree program signed between BSU and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem is important for students, society and the economy of Azerbaijan. This program will serve the further development of Azerbaijani-Israeli relations and will be successful for both universities.   According to Rufat Azizov, director of the Institute of Education, the project consists of three directions. The first direction includes a dual-degree master's program. The second direction reflects joint research with the participation of young researchers and students of both universities. Within the framework of the program 10 projects will be implemented during 5 years, and each project will last 4 years. The third direction of the project is related to doctoral education in biotechnology.   In his turn, Vice President for International Relations of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem Professor Oron Shagrir stressed that the project will give students of both universities the opportunity to conduct joint research and gain international experience.   Speaking at the ceremony, head of the Mountain Jewish Community of Azerbaijan Milikh Yevdayev said the program will further strengthen the alliance between the two peoples.   Then agreements were signed between the universities on cooperation in double-degree programs and joint research.   After the signing ceremony, the Heydar Aliyev Museum and lecture hall were opened at BSU after major reconstruction.

Minister of Science and Education meets with head of the United Nations Children’s Fund Representation Office in the Republic of Azerbaijan

On the 22nd of May, the Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev has met with Alex Heikens, the head of the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) Representation Office in the Republic of Azerbaijan.   The meeting included an exchange of views on the current state of cooperation relations in the field of education and possible prospects for future cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the UNICEF.

Rector of the ADA University is awarded the title of Honorary Doctor of the Technical University of Georgia

On May 19, Hafiz Pashayev, rector of ADA University, was awarded the title of honorary doctor of the Georgian Technical University (GTU).   Rector of the GTU David Gurgenidze reported that the Scientific Council of the university decided to award the title of honorary doctor to Hafiz Pashayev, rector of the ADA University. The GTU rector presented Hafiz Pashayev with a diploma of honorary doctor of the GTU and an honorary badge.   Hafiz Pashayev, in his turn, expressed his gratitude to the rector and the Scientific Council of the GTU.

Emin Amrullayev meets with the Prime Minister of Georgia

On May 19, the Azerbaijani Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev, who is visiting Georgia, met with Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili.   The meeting was attended by Georgian Minister of Education and Science Georgi Amilakhvari, rector of ADA University Hafiz Pashayev and Azerbaijani Ambassador to Georgia Faig Guliyev.   During the meeting, the activities of schools in which the Georgian language is taught in the Republic Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijani language is taught in Georgia were highly appreciated, and the prospects for cooperation in general, higher education and science were emphasized.

Minister attended opening ceremony of Auditorium named after Heydar Aliyev at Tbilisi State University

On May 19, as part of his visit to Georgia, Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev attended the opening ceremony of the Heydar Aliyev Auditorium at the Tbilisi State University named after Ivane Javakhishvili.   Addressing the event, the Minister of Science and Education informed the participants of the event about the reforms conducted in our country under the leadership of national leader Heydar Aliyev in many spheres of the country, including education sphere, and their results.   Then Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullaev and Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Georgi Amilakhvari visited school No. 73 named after M.F.Akhundov where education is carried out in the Azerbaijani language and took part in the "Last Bell” school event.   As part of his visit, Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullaev visited the Technical University of Georgia and met with the rector of the university, David Gurgenidze.

International event in Baku under the project "eTwinning”

On May 15, the “eTwinning” project launched its international seminar on "Innovation and Education”.   Twenty-five educators from Albania, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Finland, Portugal, Slovakia, and Slovenia, the representatives of respective ministries of education of these countries, and a total of 28 teachers from eight regions are participating in the seminar.   Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Science and Education Hasan Hasanli spoke about the integration of the eTwinning project into the education system and its successful implementation in our country, emphasizing the importance of the project in terms of building a project model of the lesson and sharing experiences. The deputy minister noted that the project enables teachers to effectively use information and communication technologies in education and take advantage of online professional development opportunities.   “eTwinning” project managers from the above-mentioned countries then spoke about the application of “eTwinning project” in their respective countries and the opportunities that the project offers educators.   The next days of the seminar will include trainings and panel discussions on introduction of information and communication technologies into education, project-based learning and development of teachers' skills in the 21st century. The trainings will be conducted by both foreign and domestic experts.   At the end of the event, participating teachers will create collaborative lesson models on the “eTwinning” platform that will pave the way for the use of innovative teaching methods.   It should be noted that the “eTwinning” project is part of the European Union's Lifelong Learning Program and provides educators working in preschool, secondary and higher education institutions the opportunity to participate in trainings on professional development, international cooperation, the formation of collaborative lesson models and becoming part of Europe's largest learning community.
