    Azərbaycan SSR Xalq Komissarları Sovetinin 28 aprel 1920-ci il tarixli qərarı ilə Xalq Maarifi Nazirliyinin adı dəyişdirilərək Xalq Maarifi Komissarlığı adı ilə yenidən təşkil edilib və ölkədəki bütün təhsil müəssisələri bu qurumun tabeliyinə verilib.

Emin Amrullayev spoke at the QS Eurasia Forum

Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev delivered a speech at the QS Eurasia Forum, organized by the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) global rating agency and hosted by the University of Central Asia in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. During the speech, information was provided on internationalization and research opportunities in our country, including measures taken to increase the global competitiveness of higher education institutions. In addition, a “round table” was organized within the framework of the forum with the participation of ministers and deputy ministers in the relevant fields, as well as the leadership of leading universities. During the “round table”, discussions were held on topics such as institutional performance indicators of higher education institutions, employment outcomes, and sustainability in higher education. It should be noted that several leading higher education institutions of Azerbaijan are also represented at the forum.  

Emin Amrullayev met with the leadership of the University of Central Asia and the President of QS

Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev, as part of his visit to Tashkent, Republic of Uzbekistan, visited the University of Central Asia, met with the university’s management board and chairman of the board of trustees Abdujabar Abduvakhitov, and got acquainted with the university’s material and technical base.   At the same time, a meeting was held with Nunzio Kvakvarelli, founder and president of the global rating agency “Quacquarelli Symonds” (QS), as part of the visit, and future cooperation prospects for increasing the international competitiveness of Azerbaijani higher education institutions were discussed.

Azerbaijani Minister of Science and Education meets with First Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovations of Uzbekistan

The Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev met with the First Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovations of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Rajabov.   During the meeting, the current state and prospects for cooperation in the fields of science, higher education and innovations between the two countries were discussed.   At the same time, within the framework of the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the State Agency for Science and Higher Education under the Ministry of Science and Education of Azerbaijan and the Agency for Innovative Development under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovations of the Republic of Uzbekistan, with the aim of expanding cooperation in the fields of science and innovations.

Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev meets with the Minister of Preschool and General Education of Uzbekistan

As part of the “QS Eurasia Forum 2025” held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, the Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev met with the Minister of Preschool and General Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ezozkhon Karimova.   During the meeting, the current state and development directions of cooperation in the field of preschool and general education were discussed.   The parties emphasized the importance of expanding the exchange of experience and information, implementing joint projects, and developing cooperation in the modernization of the preschool and general education system.

During the meeting, the current state of cooperation and future prospects for development of cooperation in the field of science and education between the two countries were discussed.

Deputy Minister meets with Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Training of the Republic of South Africa

On 18 November, Deputy Minister of Science and Education Hasan Hasanli met with Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Training of the Republic of South Africa Dr. Nomusa Dube-Ncube, who is visiting our country. During the meeting, the current state of cooperation and prospects for development of cooperation in the field of education between the two countries were discussed.

International STEAM Azerbaijan 2025 Festival kicks off in Baku

With the support of the Ministry of Science and Education and organized by the "STEAM Azerbaijan" project, the International STEAM Azerbaijan Festival (SAF 2025) has kicked off at the Baku Expo Center from 17 to 19 November. The opening ceremony of the festival was attended by representatives of government agencies, members of parliament, rectors, directors of research institutes of the National Academy of Sciences, representatives of international organizations, media executives, education experts, prominent public figures and other guests.   First, the national anthem was played.   Then a video dedicated to the 5th anniversary of the SAF festival was shown.   Speaking at the opening ceremony, “STEAM Azerbaijan” project manager Igrar Nazarov presented statistics on the project's activities. It was noted that the “STEAM Azerbaijan” project covers more than 300,000 students and more than 400 schools. Currently, STEAM lessons are held in grades III-IX. There are 21 STEAM centers operating throughout the country.   Igrar Nazarov noted that this festival is not only a competition, but also an international platform that provides an opportunity for young people in our country to participate in a global exchange of knowledge.   According to Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev, STEAM education in Azerbaijan has developed significantly over the past five years, with thousands of students joining the process, and the expansion of innovative thinking in the education system further enhances the importance of the festival.   Touching upon the main components of STEAM education, Emin Amrullayev noted that, compared to the early years, more than 50 times more educational resources, methodologies and systemic models are being introduced. The minister emphasized that STEAM will become the main leading content of Azerbaijani education in 2027–2030.   After the speeches, there was a presentation of the teams that will compete in the final stage of the festival, followed by a creative segment.   It should be noted that thousands of schoolchildren, students, mentors and experts from more than 20 countries are participating in 18 categories of the festival. The competition categories cover robotics, artificial intelligence, renewable energy, unmanned and satellite technologies, art, innovative projects and engineering. The Azerbaijan-2025 International STEAM Festival will run until 19 November.   More than 1,400 participants reached the final stage of the festival. 202 of them represent 19 foreign countries. A total of 22 countries are represented at the festival, including Azerbaijan.   It should be noted that STEAM is a joint education program covering five main areas. Thus, the STEAM-based education model is founded on the idea of comprehensive teaching of science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics.

Emin Amrullayev met with the Palestinian ambassador to our country

On November 6, the Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Palestine to the Republic of Azerbaijan Ahmed Metani. During the meeting, cooperation and development prospects with Palestine in the field of science and education were discussed.

Deputy Minister Hasan Hasanli meets with the Minister of Education of Angola

Deputy Minister of Education and Science Hasan Hasanli met with Minister of Education of the Republic of Angola Luisa Maria Alves Grilo during 43rd session of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) General Conference held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. At the meeting, the parties exchanged views on establishing cooperation in the field of general education, including possible joint initiatives within the framework of STEAM.
