The delegation of senior officials of the Ministry of Education and higher education institutions of Azerbaijan visiting Paris within the event of "Azerbaijani day" held a meeting at the University Pierre and Marie Curie on February 26
Jean Chambaz, president of the university informing the delegation noted that more than 34 thousand students are studying in the university on various specialties. Speaking of the general activities of the university Jean Chambaz made a few remarks on scientific researches on more than 100 directions conducted at the university. Raja Chatila, director of Institute of Intelligent Systems and Robotics under university made a speech on the activities of the institute, conducted scientific researches and robotics. Raja Chatila noted that the robotics samples made by the university are under great demand in the areas as industry, medicine and pharmacology and the different companies of not only France, but also Europe cooperate with the university and finance the research projects. The delegation led by Firudin Gurbanov, Deputy Education Minister got acquainted with the research and robotics laboratories of the higher education institution and got access to information about university's experience in the relevant areas. In the end, the questions of Azerbaijani delegation were responded.

On February 27, "Azerbaijani day" in Paris started
The main purpose of the events of "Azerbaijani day" is to develop bilateral relations among higher educational institutions of Azerbaijan and France, evaluate the opportunities on implementation of joint programs and exchange of student and teacher. Taking part in the opening ceremony, Antoine Grassin, Campus France Director highlighted the importance of Azerbaijani day. The agency director noted his interest in the development of bilateral relations, stressed the participation of nearly 10 leading universities of Azerbaijan in this important event and said that it's a striking examples of cooperation between the two countries in the field of education. Elchin Amirbayov Azerbaijani ambassador in France and Pascal Meunier France ambassador in our country stressed existence of the high level of cooperation between the two countries and significant expansion of the cooperation in recent years. Alain Beretz, President of the University of Strasbourg spoke about cooperation in the field of bilateral programs, student and teacher exchange and scientific researches. Berets also noted that, as a follow of the event, the delegation of French education employees would visit Azerbaijan in March of this year.. On behalf of the Ministry of education, Firudin Gurbanov, Deputy Education Minister expressed his gratitude to the Administration of Campus France for organization of such an event with the participation of the leading staff of the universities of Azerbaijan and France. Emphasizing the historical relations between two countries and expansion of Azerbaijan and France relation in recent years, Firudin Gurbanov said that national leader Heydar Aliyev attached great importance to cooperation with France and this policy was successfully continued by Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the President of Azerbaijan and MP Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva, the President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation. The Deputy Minister spoke about the country's socio-economic development. He brought the works done for modernization of the infrastructure, measures taken under "National Education Development Strategy of Azerbaijan Republic", establishment of SABAH groups, one of the most important initiatives in higher education field to notice of the participants. Gurbanov also noted that Azerbaijani youth are educated in the leading universities of the world, including higher education institutions of France. Then, the numerous questions of the representatives of French universities on cooperation between two countries in the field of education were answered. At the event, the leading staff of Campus France and French universities made presentations on education opportunities of France and current cooperation projects. Azerbaijani students studying at the French universities who attended the event gave information about the high schools they got educated.

The ordinary trainings were held on "Reproductive health education in the education institutions", the joint project by the Ministry of Education, Center for Public Health and Reforms of the Ministry of Health and "Hopeful Future" Youth Organization.
The aim of the trainings held in Mingachevir, Ganja and Shaki is to improve skills and competencies on protection from harmful habits, healthy lifestyle and reproductive health of the teachers teaching biology and life skills in the secondary schools. The teachers listened lectures of professionals on human biological and psychosocial development, the causes of adolescent risky behavior and its regulatory mechanisms, features of the safe school environment and other issues and attended practical sessions.

Baku city championship of the pupils on mini football started
The contest to be ruled by the judges appointed by AFFA will be held in sports hall of 15 school of Baku. 3660 boys who study VIII grade of the secondary schools located in the Baku, will join in the championship. Games of the first phase surrounding intraregional contests to be held on "Olympic" system will be completed on March 8. The contests will be organized on subgroups in the 2nd phase. Winners of subgroups will compete in the last phase. Goal in the organization of championship is to fulfill the obligations derived from “State Program on development of football for 2005-2015 years in the Azerbaijan Republic”, promote the first European Games to be held in Baku, increase sport mastery of the pupils and involve the juniors in the strong life style.

On February 27, Firudin Gurbanov, Deputy Education Minister visiting Paris within "Azerbaijani Day" event met with Elsa Combi, chief diplomatic adviser of national education, higher education and research minister of France Republic
At the meetings, the sides emphasized the recent works done aimed to development of Azerbaijan-France cooperation and importance of the field of education in these relations, and discussed expansion of the cooperation among higher education institutions of these countries, academic mobility, joint scientific researches and other issues of mutual interest. Noting her pleasure from this meeting, Elsa Combi, chief diplomatic adviser of national education, higher education and research minister emphasized the role of such meetings in development of France-Azerbaijan education relations and their role in improvement of interrelations between two countries. Adviser highlighted the importance of the meetings held within "Azerbaijani day" and said that the delegation of French education employees would visit Azerbaijan in March of this year. Firudin Gurbanov, Deputy Education Minister noted the rapid development of Azerbaijan-France relations in recent years and spoke about the works and activities considered in order to build more efficient cooperation in the field of education. According to him, the delegation of principals of Azerbaijani universities for the first time visited France in order to take part in "Azerbaijani day' event. Highlighting the importance of "Azerbaijani day" for collaboration of higher education institutions of these two countries, Gurbanov provided detailed information about the measures taken for development of education in our country, events conducted within the framework of the "National Education Development Strategy of Azerbaijan Republic" and education of Azerbaijani youth abroad. The meeting conducted exchange of views on study of French in Azerbaijan, consideration of French language teaching courses in SABAH groups and preparation to the meetings to be held in March. The sides expressed confidence in the further development of bilateral relations on education and future cooperation. The meeting was attended by Pascal Meunier, French ambassador in Azerbaijan and Alain Beretz, President of the University of Strasbourg.

The statistics of the calls to the Call Center of the Ministry of Education (hotline, phone: 146) and Switchboard service, and the services provided to citizens in Citizen Reception Center in February, 2015 is announced.
According to statistics, the Call center received 5,649 call (8 and 1.5 times more than compared to the same period of 2013 and 2014 respectively) and Switchboard service received 3,000 calls. The Reception Center conducted services to 4,136 citizens. Majority of the application (mostly were of request character) received by the Call Center and Reception Center were immediately responded and operatively solved. 568 people were written to the reception of the relevant officials of the Ministry of education, in accordance with their requests. The Reception Center received and registered 1,215 documents (375 applications, 815 letters, 25 other documents). Most of the requests were about recognition of educational documents (diplomas), movement of pupils of secondary schools, rehabilitation and transfer to the higher education institutions, relocation and recruitment of teachers and other issues. Note that, within the last month, the Call Center was addressed mostly on Monday (1394 calls) and Tuesday (1133 calls), mainly from 10:00 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 16:00. And the citizens addressed to the Citizens Reception Center mostly on Monday (970 calls) and Tuesday (910 calls), mainly from 11:00 to 13:00 and from 14:00 to 17:00.

The combined team of the "Education" National Sports Center (NSC) won the judo championship of Azerbaijan
In the championship held in Sumgait Olympic Sports Complex, 13-14 years old boys and girls in 10 weight categories competed. 55 teams consisting of 468 athletes participated in the race. Graduates of "Education" NSC took 10 gold, 2 silver and 14 bronze medals and won first place in the team standings. Note that, “Education” NSC, for the first time, got such a successful result.

On March 5 was held a press tour organized by the Ministry of Education for SABAH groups of Azerbaijan State University of Economics (ASUE)
The journalists were shown the conditions created for SABAH groups, attended lessons and talked with teachers and students. Visit to the SABAH hostel, the student's life after lessons also aroused interest of the media members. The journalists were informed about importance of the project. It was noted that, all the teachers of SABAH groups passes the relevant commission of the Ministry of Education. The main goal of SABAH groups is to establish educational environment for students meeting modern requirements. Also, it was noted that, SABAH groups are taught English in accordance with the curriculum. The foreign teachers also take an active part in the training process. The students educated in these groups are provided with special scholarship, free hostel and three meals a day. Aida Guliyeva, dean of the SABAH groups center of ASUE spoke about conditions established for SABAH students in the university. Aida Guliyeva noted that the lessons of the students of SABAH groups are organized on a special program. Study of English and main subjects is given a special place. Within the study period, the students have opportunity to meet with company executives, public members, officials. And this increases the future career and employment opportunities of SABAH groups students significantly. Then the media members got acquainted with conditions established for students in SABAH hostels and had dinner with the students.

Within the framework of the "Education" online TV project to be established in accordance with the Action plan on implementing “National Education Development Strategy of Azerbaijan Republic" approved by the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, "61" game-quiz show started
"Education" TV established to support intellectual activities of children and youth and to contribute the better understanding of the role of education in the development of society had prepared Azerbaijani version of the new show. The show is broadcasted in our country under license of "Jeopardy" intellectual game-quiz. The author of the "Jeopardy" intellectual game-quiz is Merv Griffin. The program was broadcasted for the first time 51 years ago in US and won numerous awards. The analogue of the game in Russia is "Own game" (Svoya igra) and in Turkey is "Great risk" (Boyuk risk). The Azerbaijani version of the show is “61”. Within the game, the participants are asked 61 questions. The show supported by Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting CJSC will be put on the air once a week, on Wednesdays hosted by Leyla Guliyeva, presenter of AzTV. Note that, she is the first female presenter in "Jeopardy" show history. The show was prepared by “Game TV” company. The purpose of the projects is to support organization of enlightening and intellectual games for educators, learners and parent in accordance with the Action plan on implementing “National Education Development Strategy of Azerbaijan Republic" approved by the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

On March 5, Azerbaijan National Conservatory held award ceremony and final concert of the Fourth Republic Mugham Contest winners
The event was attended by Mikayil Jabbarov, Minister of Education, Siyavush Kerimi, head of Azerbaijan National Conservatory and other guests. Fourth Republic Mugham Contest organized by the Ministry of Education and National Conservatory and supported by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Azerbaijani Culture Friends Foundation was held in 2 rounds on "Singer" and "Instrumental mugham performance" nominations. Among 68 participants took part in the contest, 2 participants took first, second and third place awards in "Instrumental mugham performance" nomination. 4 participants were selected for their active participation. In “Singer” nomination, first, second and third place awards were each taken by single participant and 2 participants were differentiated for their active participation. Mikayil Jabbarov, Minister of Education making speech in opening ceremony of the event highlighted the great measures taken toward the protection and development of Azerbaijani mugham in recent years. The Minister noted that, all of these are result of the respect and tribute to our national culture and mugham shown by Mehriban Aliyeva, deputy of Milli Majlis, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. The fact that Azerbaijani mugham was proclaimed by UNESCO as a masterpiece of oral and intangible heritage of humanity proves that these music traditions have a great value and intercultural cooperation potential. After his speech, Mikayil Jabbarov presented the awards to the first, second and third place winners. Siyavush Kerimi, head of Azerbaijan National Conservatory presenting the awards to the active participants of the contest noted that this mugham contest is very significant event in cultural life of our country. The ceremony continued with the final contest held with participation of the contest winners.
