V “Electronic Education” Republic contest organized by The Ministry of Education started on September 8.

Contest has been organized by purpose to apply competition elements and stimulate strong competition on the sphere of application of electronic teaching resources regarding with fullfilment of the duties derived from “State Strategy on development of education in Azerbaijan Republic”. Official website (www.musabiqe.edu.az) of this contest held under relevant Order of Education, is functioning.  Contest will be performed under 7 nomnations with 3 directions:     Under “Electronic teaching resources in modern school”: - the best model created using of electronic boards; - most successful lesson/teaching project under “1 pupil: 1 computer” model; - the best lesson/teaching project sample created using from the  resources placed in education portal (www.edu.az); - the best lesson/teaching project sample created using from online means (web. 2.0, social services and etc).  Under “Online technologies in educatoion” direction: - online resources in education; - Teacher blogs.  Under “Creation of national electronic teaching resources” direction: - Creation of national electronic teaching resources Main goal in organization of contest is to enlarge usage of electronic teaching resources, online technologies in teaching process, inform education community on this sphere, detect new forms of internet usage fro teaching purposes and motivate the teachers actively using from information technologies in teaching process. Contest is supported by “Education for future” program of “Intel” Corporation, “Dr. Web” Azedunet, “Ultra”, “Madad Azerbaijan” and “Nar Mobile”. Winners of contest will be awarded to notebook, tablet, printer and other special prizes. It should be noted that, contest is held for 5 times. More than 4000 drafts have been submitted generally in the contests held in 2010-2013. 

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has reviewed secondary school No. 153 in Yasamal District of Baku after major repair and reconstruction.

All projects featured in the State Program on the socioeconomic development of Baku and its settlements are being successfully executed. In accordance with a plan of action featured in the Special State Program, material and technical infrastructure of secondary schools and educational facilities is being strengthened. Secondary schools are revamped to the highest standards and supplied with necessary equipment in the capital as in all parts of the country ahead of the new academic year. This demonstrates the head of state’s attention to education. Baku Mayor Hajibala Abutalibov informed the head of state about the work done. It was said that the 4-storey facility had three blocks. Photo stands reflecting the national leader’s care to education and President Ilham Aliyev's work to improve educational facilities in Yasamal District to modern standards were set up in the lobby of the school. Reconstruction of the school began last October with high-quality work carried out. The 1500-seat school has 80 classrooms and 6 departments. There are now 700 pupils at the school and teaching here is conducted in Azerbaijani and Russian sections in one shift. Two gyms, an auditorium, a library, computer, labor training and medical rooms were created here. All classrooms and departments were fitted with necessary equipment and teaching aids. State-of-the-art air conditioning and lighting systems were installed here. Landscaping and redevelopment work was carried out in the yard of the school. After reviewing the school the head of state posed for photographs together with its teaching staff. www.president.az

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has reviewed schools No. 32 and No. 12 in Nizami District of Baku.

Continuous work is successfully carried out to reconstruct educational facilities and build new schools and kindergartens under a plan of action featured in the special State Program on the socioeconomic development of Baku and its settlements. Secondary schools are revamped to the highest standards and supplied with necessary equipment, landscaping work is carried out and new green areas created on the territory of educational facilities in the capital, adjacent settlements and all parts of the country. Important work is also being done to strengthen material and technical infrastructure of schools. President Ilham Aliyev first reviewed secondary school No. 32 after major repair and reconstruction. Baku Mayor Hajibala Abutalibov informed the head of state about the work done. It was noted that there were 1,050 pupils in the four-storey school. All classrooms and departments of the school were repaired in line with modern standards, provided with necessary equipment and teaching aids ahead of the new academic year. Heating and lighting systems were reconstructed in line with the highest standards too. A 640-seat additional block will be built next year. The head of state reviewed the classrooms of the school. President Ilham Aliyev then visited secondary school No. 12. The head of state was informed of the repair and reconstruction work here. It was said that the school was built in 1974 on the initiative of national leader Heydar Aliyev, who also participated in its opening. There are 43 classrooms in the four-storey school. Some 1,200 pupils are studying at the school. An additional 240-seat block will be built here for the next academic year. All classrooms and departments were repaired in line with modern standards and state-of-the-art heating and lighting systems installed here. World championship on greco-roman wrestling among the veterans, has been held in Belgrad, Serbia’s capital.

Alisahib Alisahibov, head of physical culture of Kurdamir Vocational Lyceum of The Ministry of Education, represented our country in this contest. Famous athletes from 10 countries struggled for victory in the same weight category of our veteran wrestler. Our wrestler who remained in people’s mind as successful athlete, kept bronze medal. This is 7 th bronze medal of Alisahib Alisahibov who became a winner in world championship among the veterans. World championship, is held under 7 age group among the veterans on greco-roman wrestling. Younger wrestler has 35, but the oldest has 70 years old.

Traditional september conference of Baku education employees, has been held on September 11.

Mikayil Jabbarov, The Minister of Education of Azerbaijan Republic, structural section leaders of ministry, adminstration and colloborators of Baku Education Department, school directors, advanced teachers and media representatives took part in the conference. Prior to event, the collaboratos of Baku Education Department visited grave of national Heydar Aliyev and expressed their respect and honor for his spirit. Conference started with sounding of State anthem. Then, report of Elnur Aliyev, Acting Head of Baku Education Department, was listened. Elnur Aliyev gave detailed information on the priorities and the successes achieved during previous academic year to event’s participants. Saida Zeynalova, director of Technical Humnaitarian Lyceum made a speech on the topic of “Education strategy and trainings”, Aygun Karimova, teacher of secondary school No. 182 with topic of “Recruitment contest of the teachers and test assessment”, Rahim Huseynov, director of the secondary school No. 193 with topic of “Application of curriculum in education”. Making his final speech in the conference, Mikayil Jabbarov, The Minister of Education talked about the priorities on the direction of settlement of existing problems and the achievements on the sphere of education. Minister pointed that, our national leader Heydar Aliyev always paid special attention to education sphere and formation of independent Azerbaijan state is related to political experience and wisdom of Heydar Aliyev.   Congratulating educational employees on occasion of “The day of knowledge”, Minister underlined several other key issues, also main prioroties before education community for next academic year. It’s important to celebrate first lesson hours on patriotism topic with participation of public figures, the intellectuals on September 15- “The day of knowledge”. Drawing attention to performance of relevant actions in order to increase interest of school’s pupils to reading, the minister of education gave his concrete instructions in this regard.     Minister stated importance of compilation of teaching programs that minimize number of compulsory subjects and allow specialization as pilot in the last grades of the secondary schools that are under The Ministry of Education for recent years.       Mikayil Jabbarov, The Minster of Education pointed that, one of important issues performed on the sphere of education is to conduct test assessment of the teachers functioning in the secondary schools of Baku. The Minister uderlined importance of the results of test assessment for valuation of teachers’ action and adoption of relevant decisions. He also touched upon the issues like optimization of lesson distribution, change in the salaries of the teachers who passed test assessment from the next academic year. At the same time, test assessment will surround all regions of our country. 10 directors have been awarded to “Certificate of Merit of The Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan Republic” due to their 3 and more graduates achieved gold medal finishing secondary edcation with special achievements for 2013-2014. Appeal has been addressed to the President by event’s participants at the end of conference and conference’s resolution has been adopted. 

Brain-ring contests for “Cup of Knowledge” organized by The Ministry of Education, started.

Mikayil Jabbarov, The Minister of Education and other officials took part in the first game. DJ Fateh who is announcer and senior referee of the games, informed about this popular contest and its organization rules. Anouncing start of 4 th season of brain-ring, senior referee expressed his gratitude to Heydar Aliyev Fund, The Ministry of Education, The Ministry of Youth and Sport for support.     Games will be held during 4 months and names of owners of “Cup of knowledge” organzied by The Ministry of Education will be knew in 15 th game. Champions ofseptember, october and november months will take part in the same game.   Winner of “Cup of Knowledge” will be awarded to electronic book reader by The Ministry of Education. At the same time, winner teams will be presented the tablets and plastic card with 3000 Azn account by the sponsors.  First qualification game took place between “Norm cement” who was last winner of “Cup of Knowledge” and “Fortuna” team. “Norm cement” won his opponent with a score of 5-1.  Second qualification game took place between “BSU” and “Aviation Academy”. Hard struggle completed with victory of “BSU”. “Norm cement” won “BSU” team in the first final game. Next final game took place between the same two teams and first team won the game. So, “Norm cement” obtained right to play in final phase ofseptember. 

Short-term trainings have been contucted to teacher and the masters by purpose to train staff under “Barber” specialty within framework of “Modern Azerbaijan Professionals Project” in Baku Vocational Lyceum No. 18 of The Ministry of Education.

Main goal of the trainings held by “Eldar Studio”, is to create modern type teaching workshops in more 2 vocational educational establishment for 2014-2015 academic year together with “Eldar Studio” and increase quality of teaching under “Barber” specialty, also enhance knowledge and professionalism level of engineer-pedagogical staff. Trainings will last 20 days under 2 phases. 

President Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of the French Lyceum of Baku.

A ceremony to open the French Lyceum of Baku has been held. President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his wife Mehriban Aliyeva attended the ceremony. President Ilham Aliyev's attention to education proves that the development of human capital is one of the core principles of the government policy. State-of-the-art schools have been built, new blocks for educational facilities constructed in both the capital and the country's regions in the past few years. Important work has been carried out to strengthen material and technical infrastructure of schools. The Heydar Aliyev Foundation has strongly supported this government program. Special attention has been paid to education of national minorities in Azerbaijan under the Foundation’s “Support for Education” project. Settlement of education-related problems of children of foreigners living in Baku has also been the focus of attention. The projects of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation on this front have yielded results with the construction of the French Lyceum of Baku being one of the striking examples. The 320-seat lyceum is located on the territory of the White City. The lyceum was built in a modern architectural style. It occupies a total area of 14,000 sq.m. President Ilham Aliyev and his wife Mehriban Aliyeva cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the facility. The lyceum will offer pre-school and elementary education. There will also be college and lyceum groups. One hundred students will receive education at the lyceum this academic year. A groundbreaking ceremony for the facility was held in October 2011 under the agreement on the establishment of the French Lyceum of Baku signed between the two countries' governments as part of President Nicolas Sarkozy’s visit. The lyceum, whose establishment was supported by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, will create ample opportunities for French-speaker foreigners temporarily or permanently residing in Azerbaijan and Azerbaijani citizens to receive education in French. Teaching here will be based on a classic French 12-year secondary education plan, which also includes kindergarten. Teaching will be conducted in French in accordance with the French national education system. The certificates to be given to lyceum graduates will be recognized by the French Ministry of National Education. Graduates will have an opportunity to continue education in any university in France. French President Francois Hollande reviewed constructed progress at the lyceum when he was on an official visit to Azerbaijan this May. www.president.az

President Ilham Aliyev has attended the opening of a new building of secondary school No. 84 in Amirjan settlement of Surakhani District, Baku. All projects featured in the State Program on the socioeconomic development of Baku and its settlements are being successfully executed. Under a plan of action, repair and reconstruction of schools has continued this year. Secondary schools are revamped to the highest standards and supplied with necessary equipment in Baku as in all parts of the country ahead of the new academic year. This demonstrates the government’s attention to education. Baku Mayor Hajibala Abutalibov informed the head of state about the work done. It was said that the school, which was constructed in 1920, initially functioned as a hospital. The outdated facility was pulled down in 2012, and a three-storey building, which meets the highest standards, was constructed in its place. The head of state cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the facility. It was noted that the 1224-seat school has 48 classrooms. The photo stands reflecting the care of national leader Heydar Aliyev to education and President Ilham Aliyev’s work towards improving educational facilities in Surakhani District to modern standards were installed in the lobby of the school. The head of state reviewed the school. All classrooms and departments were repaired in line with modern standards. The school was supplied with necessary equipment and modern teaching aids. The necessary equipment was installed in laboratories to enable pupils to apply their theoretical knowledge. The school gym attracts attention with its modernity. The auditorium of the school is well-suited for hosting various events. A military training room was created here with the aim of improving pupils’ military readiness and boosting their patriotic spirit. The modern heating and lighting systems are installed here. President Ilham Aliyev reviewed school-lyceum No. 72 and secondary school No. 80 in Baku.

President Ilham Aliyev has reviewed school-lyceum No. 72 and secondary school No. 80 in Sabunchu District of Baku. The head of state first reviewed school-lyceum No. 72 after major repair and reconstruction. The President was informed that the two-storey facility was built in 1930. It functioned as a women’s gymnasium for several years. The school’s second block was built in 1989, while the third one in 2007. Major repair and reconstruction was carried out at the school this year. Some 1,235 students receive education at the facility, which has 45 classrooms. All classrooms and departments were reconstructed to the highest standards and fitted with necessary equipment and teaching aids. Modern heating and lighting systems were installed in the school. The gym is well-suited for hosting mini-football, basketball and volleyball tournaments.   Х Х Х   President Ilham Aliyev then reviewed the additional block of secondary school No. 80 in Sabunchu District after major repair and reconstruction. The head of state was informed about the work carried out in the school. Under instructions of President Ilham Aliyev, the three-storey 480-seat block was remodeled this year. It has 23 classrooms. The construction work was carried out in line with the highest standards. It was noted that the school was fitted with necessary equipment and teaching aids. State-of-the-art lighting and heating systems were installed here. Landscaping work was carried out, green areas created in the area adjacent to the school. The construction of new schools and additional blocks for educational institutions once again proves that educational reforms successfully continue in the country thanks to President Ilham Aliyev’s attention. www.president.az
