During the meeting, the sides expressed satisfaction with development of relations between Azerbaijan and Italy and particularly noted the attention paid by the leadership of both countries to expanding these relations and strengthening friendship between the two peoples. The sides also highlighted the importance of the successful holding of the Azerbaijani-Italian Inter-University Forum and the development of cooperation between the higher education institutions of the two countries according to the results of the Forum. The ministers also discussed issues such as the current state of cooperation in the field of education between Azerbaijan and Italy, the student and faculty exchange among higher education institutions, the prospects for the implementation of joint research projects and the support for teaching Italian language in Azerbaijan. The 8th European Championships in Acrobatic Gymnastics, held in Riesa, Germany, was attended by more than 200 athletes from 27 countries. In the competition, our country was represented by Agasif Rahimov, Seymur Jafarov, Murad Akbarov and Nurjan Jabbarli, graduates of Gymnastics School and members of the national team. In tense struggle for the age group 12-18 years, Seymur Jafarov and Murad Akbarov took 2nd place and won silver medal in men's pair, Agasif Rahimov and Nurjan Jabbarli took 3rd place and won bronze medal in mixed pair.

The event was attended by about 20 media representatives, representing the mass media. During the media tour, media representatives were informed about the "Healthy education" classes. It was noted that 52 "Healthy education" classes were established within the framework of the project "Healthy Education – Healthy Nation" in the academic year 2015-2016. Currently, 67 "Healthy education" classes operate in 34 educational institutions (33 secondary schools in Baku, 1 secondary school in Sumgait). 15 of them were established in the previous academic year. It should be noted that the teaching process is conducted under the conditions of active learning. Student desks give the opportunity to work sitting down and standing up. The teaching aid entitled "Class Hygiene" was prepared and delivered to teachers in order to more effectively organize the enlightenment of teachers, who teach in these classes. The medical monitoring, conducted in 15 "Healthy education" classes operating from the previous academic year, revealed that the technologies used in these classes had a positive impact on the health of children. At the same time, it was determined that students, studying in these classes, developed physically and intellectually, and their learning ability, as well as emotional and psychological state improved. The main purpose of the project "Healthy Education – Healthy Nation" is to improve the learning achievements of students, to eliminate restriction of movement, arising from teaching conditions, and other factors, and to protect their health.

The purpose of the visit is to discuss the possibilities of expanding cooperation in the field of education at the Azerbaijani-Italian Inter-University Forum. Before the Forum, M.Jabbarov met with Azerbaijani students, studying in Italy, at the Azerbaijan`s pavilion in the "Expo Milano 2015" international exhibition. During the meeting, the topical issues related to education and living conditions of Azerbaijani students in this country were discussed. The Minister of Education underlined that Azerbaijani students should worthily represent Azerbaijan in foreign universities where they study and should be active in bringing the truth about our country to Italians. Then, the Azerbaijani-Italian Inter-University Forum was launched with the support of the Ministry of Education. The event was attended by Vagif Sadigov, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Italy, representatives of higher education institutions and education ministries of both countries. The purpose of the Forum is to expand the existing relations between higher education institutions of Azerbaijan and Italy, to establish new contacts, to discuss pressing issues, to evaluate the opportunities for exchange of experience and implementation of joint programs. Opening the event, Mikayil Jabbarov, Minister of Education, expressed his gratitude to the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR) for the support in organizing the Forum. Noting that Azerbaijan has been one of the knowledge and creativity centers since ancient times, the Minister spoke about the important contributions of our country to education, literature and art. The awarding ceremony of winners was held at the Non-School Up-Bringing Center No. 46 in Baku, as well as the exhibition of the best works was organized at this place. The event was attended by the collaborators of the Ministry of Education, representatives of Baku City Education Department, boarding schools, creativity centers, primary vocational education institutions and the winners of the contest. The main purpose of the contest is to identify talented children and young people, to develop their creative potential, to involve schoolchildren in creative associations, to organize the exchange of experience among the Children's Creative Centers. This year, for the first time, the competition, held for the fourth time, was attended by pupils of boarding schools and primary vocational education institutions operating in the Republic of Azerbaijan. The contest was held in 20 categories like decorative applied art, design and floristics. The contest was organized in 2 stages (District (city) and Republican stages). More than four thousand participants attended the first stage of the contest. About 1000 handiwork were submitted to the Republican stage of the contest. 81 winners and 24 active participants were determined by the jury. The participants, who won first, second and third places in the Republican stage of the contest, were awarded with diplomas and valuable prizes by the Ministry of Education. The catalogue, consisting of photos of the winners and the best works, is being prepared.

The summer environmental school, organized for the first time in the educational, sports and recreation complex of Azerbaijan State Economic University, was attended by 8-14-year-old 30 schoolchildren, who are the most active members of environmental organizations and Young Naturalists' Clubs. The experts of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), BP and Baku State University (BSU), collaborators of Republican Ecological Training and Experience Center and ecologists-students, who have been invited to the environmental school dedicated to International Literacy Day, passed the trainings on fundamentals of forest ecology, determination of the direction, green tourism, determination of plant and animal species, bioindication and bioacoustics. The organization of practical exercises, sports and recreation programs, football and swimming competitions created the conditions for the meaningful use of leisure time of students. Children and young people implemented the first research projects within 5 days in the group format.

The Minister of Education Mikayil Jabbarov, Chairman of the State Committee on Securities under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Rufat Aslanli, UNEC’s Rector Adalat Muradov, teaching and student staffs of the university and other guests took part at the event. Making an opening speech UNEC Rector greeted the participants. Rector expressed the gratitude to the State Committee on Securities for the assistance in establishing the laboratory. SCS Chairman Rufat Aslanli spoke in his speech about the beneficial cooperation between UNEC and the committee, mutual relationship and the role of the organization headed by him in the enhancing knowledge and skills of university students and their preparation as a highly qualified staff. Chairman of Baku Stock Exchange Executive Board Fariz Azizov made a speech on “Technical Opportunities and Functions of the Financial Laboratory”. He announced that the teaching and research area was set up at the laboratory. Books on Securities and Capital Markets in 4 languages were introduced for the use of students. The Minister of Education Mikayil Jabbarov congratulated the faculty and students of UNEC on the opening of the Financial Laboratory and thanked those who contributed to this work. The Minister said that new laboratory will play an important role in improving financial literacy of the students. Then the participants were informed about the model of “Electronic University”. As a result of the implementation of the new system, the paper journals’ usage has been stopped. Information about all students studying at the university, the teaching staff, lessons schedules, subject groups, calendar- thematic plans, students’ individual curriculum and alumni have been included in the system’s database. The opening ceremony was attended by Mikayil Jabbarov, Minister of Education, Farah Aliyeva, Rector of Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts, schoolchildren and media representatives. Fine Art Gallery of Child-Youth Creativity Palace named after Tofig Ismayilov was established in 1983 on the initiative of national leader Heydar Aliyev. After major overhaul, Gallery was equipped with the most modern training equipment and all necessary conditions were created for pupils to learn the secrets of fine art. The gallery that will operate as a common center in the new style is very important in terms of effective use of leisure time of schoolchildren and their development on the basis of modern painting traditions. There are 7 salons at the Gallery in order to conduct creative lessons and exhibitions for pupils. "Drawing and painting", "Digital image" circles will function at the Gallery. The purpose of the newly created "Digital image" circle is to maintain the traditions of fine art and teach to create images by the computer. These circles are intended for 5-16-year-old pupils to be dealing with graphics and painting. At the same time, a variety of important exhibitions, competitions and master classes will also be organized at the Gallery. At the ceremony, the art exhibition, reflecting all genres of fine art and organizing among circle members of secondary schools and creativity centers operating in Baku, was demonstrated on the occasion of the opening of the Gallery. The exhibition was attended by children and young people between the ages of 6-18. The exhibition covered the topics "My city - the Pearls of Azerbaijan", "Our national heritage - the samples of decorative-applied art", "Azerbaijani fairy tales through the eyes of children”. The participants of the ceremony listened to songs and poems performed by members of children's theater "Chicheyim".
