    Azərbaycan SSR Xalq Komissarları Sovetinin 28 aprel 1920-ci il tarixli qərarı ilə Xalq Maarifi Nazirliyinin adı dəyişdirilərək Xalq Maarifi Komissarlığı adı ilə yenidən təşkil edilib və ölkədəki bütün təhsil müəssisələri bu qurumun tabeliyinə verilib.

President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva acquainted with conditions created at a secondary school No. 292

A new Training and Service Complex built on the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation has been inaugurated on January 27 in Bina settlement of Khazar district of Baku.   President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the event.   President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva viewed conditions created at a secondary school No 292, constructed in the territory of the Complex.   It was reported that the 1,400-seat, four-storey school building has classrooms, including military, labor, computer rooms, labs, libraries, a canteen and a gym. The school was fitted with necessary furniture, equipment and visual aids.   Models of solar, wind and mechanical electric power facilities have been installed in the schoolyard.

Our students will take part in three international assessment studies

In 2022, Azerbaijani students will take part in three international assessment studies.   These assessment studies include:   PISA 2022 (Programme for International Student Assessment) 15-year-old students studying in our country will take part in the main phase of the International Student Assessment Study - PISA 2022 (Programme for International Student Assessment), a pilot  phase of which took place in 2021. A study conducted every three years by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) measures the ability of 15-year-old students to use their school knowledge in reading, mathematics and science to solve problems they encounter in life, at home. The PISA 2022 study will assess students' knowledge and skills in reading, mathematics and science, as well as creative thinking. Azerbaijan will take part in the PISA international assessment study on a computer-based, as it did in 2018.   ICILS 2023 (International Computer and Information Literacy Study)   In 2022, our country will take part in the pilot phase of the ICILS 2023 (International Computer and Information Literacy Study) - an international assessment study on computer and information literacy for 8th grade students. The study, whose main phase will take place in 2023, was first conducted in 2013 by the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA). An assessment study conducted every 5 years, along with an assessment of students' computational thinking, is an opportunity to collect data on how they are developing their problem-solving skills with computers at school and to make international comparisons.   TIMSS 2023 (The Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study)      In 2022, fourth and eighth grade students from our country will take part in the pilot phase of the TIMSS 2023 (The Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study) – the International Assessment Programme in Mathematics and Natural Sciences. The main phase of the study, which takes place every four years, will take place in 2023. The main aim of the study is to collect data to improve learning and teaching of mathematics and natural sciences based on student outcomes. Azerbaijan will participate in this international assessment study on a computer-based.   It should be noted that achieving a significant improvement of Azerbaijan's status in international assessments (PISA, PIRLS, TIMSS, ICILS) has been identified as one of the main goals.

The Minister of Education attends the launch of a STEAM center and school in Sabirabad

The Minister of Education Emin Amrullayev paid a visit to Sabirabad district on January 24.   At first, the Minister of Education visited the monument to the great leader Heydar Aliyev and laid flowers at it.   Within the framework of the visit, the opening ceremony of a full secondary school named after Mirhusein Mammadov in the village of Nizami of the Sabirabad district was held after a major renovation.   The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Education Emin Amrullayev, members of the National Assembly Kamal Jafarov and Ramin Mammadov, head of Sabirabad district executive power Sirajeddin Jabbarov and head of Sabirabad district education department Pahlivan Garayev.   Participants of the event got acquainted with the conditions created in the school.   It was noted that the newly renovated school is designed for 624 seats.    There are 19 classrooms, three laboratory rooms, two technology rooms, two informatics rooms, a cabinet for pre-military training of youth, a room for pre-school preparation, an assembly hall for 96 seats, a gymnasium, a library and canteen with 100 seats in total at the school.   Then the STEAM Center was opened at Mirza Alekber Sabir Secondary School No. 1 in Sabirabad.   After familiarizing themselves with the conditions created at the Center, the participants were informed that the Center has a regional character. Thus, schoolchildren not only from the villages of Sabirabad district, but also from Saatli and other neighboring districts will benefit from this Center.   It should be noted that the STEAM project, which currently covers over 100,000 pupils across the country, is scheduled to expand next school year.

Opening of a school in Aghjabedi district

On January 21, the opening ceremony of a new academic building built for secondary school named after M. Ulukhanov in the village of Sarijaly of Aghjabedi district took place. The opening ceremony was attended by Elnur Nasibov, Advisor to the Minister of Education, Rafil Huseynov, head of the Executive Power of the Aghjabedi district, and Ismail Hasanov, head of the Department of Education of the Aghjabedi district.   First the participants of the opening ceremony visited the monument to the nationwide  great leader Heydar Aliyev.   Then the participants of the event got acquainted with the conditions created in the school.   It was noted that the new school is designed for 360 pupils.   The 16-classroom general education institution includes three laboratories, two technology rooms, computer science, pre-conscription youth training rooms, a pre-school training room, a 216-seat assembly hall, a gym, a library, and a 120-seat canteen.  

Opening of schools in Ganja and Samukh

On January 21, the opening ceremony of a new educational building built for secondary school No.10 named after Mohammad Hadi in Ganja took place. The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Education Mukhtar Mammadov, Deputy Head of the Executive Power of Ganja Adil Tagiyev and Head of the Education Department of Ganja Anar Gadimaliev. First the participants of the opening ceremony visited the monument to the nationwide great leader Heydar Aliyev. Then the participants of the event got acquainted with the conditions created in the school. It was noted that the school building is designed for 760 students. There are 31 classrooms, 2 computer classrooms, 6 laboratories, a teacher's room, an electrician's room, a doctor's room, 4 technical rooms, a library and a reading room, a canteen for 160 seats, an assembly room for 180 seats, a reception, a checkroom and 24 sanitary rooms in the three-storey school. A three-story educational institution includes 31 classrooms, 2 computer science rooms, 6 laboratories, teachers’ room, electricians’ room, doctor's room, 4 technical rooms, library and reading room, a canteen for 160 seats, assembly hall for 180 seats, reception, checkroom and 24 sanitary rooms. It should be noted that over the past 10 years, 12 schools in Ganja have been overhauled. ***   On January 21, the opening ceremony of a new educational building built for secondary school named after H.Zardabi in Chobanabadli village of Samukh region took place.   The event was attended by Deputy Education Minister Mukhtar Mammadov, Head of Executive Power of Samukh district Ali Gojayev, Head of Capital Construction and Supply Department of the Ministry of Education Anar Akhundov and Head of Samukh District Education Department Nurlana Hasanova.   It was noted that the new school is designed for 624 students. The school has 24 classrooms meeting modern educational standards, preschool training room, subject classrooms and laboratories, computer science room, pre-conscription youth training rooms, assembly and gymnasium, library and canteen.   The school building is equipped with video surveillance, fire alarm systems, Internet and telephone lines. A teaching staff of 49 people will teach and educate students in the educational institution. After the opening ceremony the guests got acquainted with the conditions created in the school.

President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva visited Alley of Martyrs on 32nd anniversary of 20 January tragedy

Thirty-two years have passed since the bloody 20 January tragedy. On 20 January – National Mourning Day, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva visited the Alley of Martyrs on the 32nd anniversary of the bloodshed which was committed by the Soviet empire in Baku.   President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva paid tribute to those who gave their lives for the country’s freedom.   President Ilham Aliyev laid a wreath at the “Eternal Flame” monument.   The national anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played.   https://president.az

Special lessons dedicated to the January 20 tragedy

On January 19, schools will hold special classes dedicated to the 32nd anniversary of the January 20 tragedy. This is stated in "The plan of events of the Ministry of Education for the thirty-second anniversary of the tragedy of January 20," approved by the relevant order of the Minister of Education. The organization of book and photo exhibitions, as well as exhibitions of paintings, literary and artistic compositions, is planned as part of the Plan of Events, as is the holding of conferences, seminars, lectures, and round tables in educational institutions commemorating the 32nd anniversary of the January 20 tragedy.  

To attention those wishing to apply for dual diploma programs!

Two of the four double diploma programs implemented under the "State program to improve the international competitiveness of the Republic of Azerbaijan's higher education system in 2019-2023" refer to the master's degree level. Thus, in order to obtain the title of a student in the double diploma programs held between Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University and George Washington University in qualification of “Education and human capital development” and between ADA University and George Washington University in qualification of “Computer science and data analysis” and “Electricity and electric power”, it is necessary to participate in the first stage of the master's examination conducted by the State Examination Center. You can also take the first step toward becoming a State Program student by participating in the master’s degree examination of the State Examination Center that will be held in February.  

Figures for the calendar year 2021-short-term vocational trainings

From March to December 2021, 34 short-term vocational trainings were launched. 29 of these vocational trainings have been completed and 5 are currently ongoing.   A total of 800 people were involved in the vocational trainings.            More than 30 per cent of the unemployed graduates who completed the vocational training got a job after the training.

2021 calendar year in figures - resource kits for first graders

As part of a pilot project, 2,045 resource kits have been distributed to selected schools in 27 cities and districts since 2021. The total number of first graders who benefited from the project was approximately 45,000, representing 28% of all first graders.
