    Azərbaycan SSR Xalq Komissarları Sovetinin 28 aprel 1920-ci il tarixli qərarı ilə Xalq Maarifi Nazirliyinin adı dəyişdirilərək Xalq Maarifi Komissarlığı adı ilə yenidən təşkil edilib və ölkədəki bütün təhsil müəssisələri bu qurumun tabeliyinə verilib.

Media tour to the Baku State Vocational Education Center for Industry and Innovations

On August 13, a media tour was organized to the Baku State Vocational Education Center for Industry and Innovations.  The media tour was attended by members of the National Assembly, well-known members of the public and mass media. Within the framework of the media tour, the participants were informed about the innovations and general rules applied in the admission process to vocational education institutions for the next academic year. It was noted that the the enrollment of students for the 2021-2022 academic year is conducted for 21260 places in 66 vocational education institutions with 120 specialties and the enrollment plan has increased by 9.6% compared to last year. It was also emphasized that, for the first time since the current year, 7 vocational education institutions located in 5 regions will conduct training of high technical level of vocational education. It was noted that in the admission process to 15 specialties at the expense of the state 840 places were allocated. Then the participants of the media tour got acquainted with the workshops, the material and technical base of the Baku State Vocational Education Center for Industry and Innovations that meet modern standards, and the organization of the educational process in the Center. The participants of the media tour were also informed that over the past period students were trained in technical professions in 9 areas and high-technical professions in 2 areas in the Center, which trains competitive personnel based on international educational standards. And from the academic year 2021-2022, students will be able to receive training in various specialties of both technical and higher technical vocational education in 11 areas each. Within the framework of the media tour, a meeting was held with graduates who had graduated from vocational schools and had made a successful career in various fields. During the meeting, the guests' experiences were heard and opinions were exchanged about the current situation in vocational education and upcoming work. In conclusion, numerous questions of interest to the participants of the media tour were answered. It should be noted that the admission of students to vocational education institutions for the 2021-2022 academic year began on August 10. Those wishing to receive vocational education must register on the portal.edu.az on August 10-20 . The admission process is open to graduates of general or full secondary education.  

148 people gained the right to study in Hungary

Within the framework of the Intergovernmental Scholarship Programs (NTP) the selections for the Hungarian education scholarship program for the academic year 2021-2022 have been completed. As a result of cooperation in the field of education between the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, 148 citizens of Azerbaijan got the right to study at the prestigious universities of Hungary in 2021-2022 academic year. The Hungarian side has decided to continue scholarships in the academic year 2021-2022 to 87 Azerbaijanis from the existing quota, who have had their terms of study extended as a result of the global pandemic. As a result of a final decision made by the Hungarian side on the selection, 17 people got the right to study at the PhD level (in any field of interest), 123 at the master's level and 8 at the bachelor's level under the aforesaid agreement. They will study economics, humanitarian and social sciences, business and management, engineering, Information Technologies (ITs), tourism, natural sciences and health sciences. The students who were awarded the scholarship got the right to study at such higher education institutions as “Budapest University of Technology and Economics”, “Corvinus University of Budapest”, “University of Szeged”, “Eötvös Loránd University”, “University of Debrecen”, “University of Pécs” and others.  It should be noted that the relevant scholarship program was announced on November 23, 2020.  

A group of Azerbaijani graduates of foreign universities made a trip to liberated Aghdam

A trip for Azerbaijani graduates of foreign universities to liberated (from Armenian occupation) Aghdam district has been organized on July 31.   Some 71 people took part in the trip. The trip was organized with the support of the Ministry of Education for a group of graduates who were trained in a number of prestigious universities in the world within the ‘State program for training Azerbaijani youth abroad for 2007-2015’ and ‘Intergovernmental scholarship programs’.   These are graduates of about 60 prestigious universities in 17 countries (the US, Germany, Australia, the UK, Belgium, Czech Republic, China, Sweden, Switzerland, Italy, Canada, Lithuania, Hungary, Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Turkey). Currently, they work in public and private organizations in Azerbaijan in leading and managerial positions.   The participants of the trip visited the Panakh Ali-Khan Palace, the Imarat stadium, the Juma Mosque and the Giyasli Mosque in Aghdam region, as well as the Aghdam State Drama Theater.   In front of the Azerbaijan State Drama Theatre, Azerbaijani graduates performed samples of national folklore such as “Sari gelin”, “Heyrati Azerbaijan”, “Rast fragment Niyazi”, as well as “Vivaldi-summer”. In addition, Azerbaijani graduates got acquainted themselves with Aghdam's General Plan during the visit.   In order to communicate to the international community, the significance of Karabakh for Azerbaijan and the historical and rich cultural heritage of the region, "Karabakh is Azerbaijan" - a special issue of the "Nargis" magazine devoted to Karabakh culture and history was presented to Azerbaijani graduates.   An artwork created by Gulshan Bakhshaliyeva, a student of the Sumgait Child and Youth Development Centre No 1, containing special elements of the 44-day Patriotic War, was presented to Emin Huseynov, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, to be viewed by local and foreign nationals.   The impressions of Azerbaijani graduates of their visit to the liberated Azerbaijani lands and victory in the 44-Day Patriotic War were heard.   At the end of the visit, a memorial picture was taken.   It should be noted that during the 44-day Patriotic War, young people educated abroad at the expense of the state contributed to the provision of health services to our servicemen affected by the war, as well as to the delivery of the truthful voice of our country to the world community on social media accounts, public and diplomatic platforms.

Children of martyrs shared their impressions of the Zafar (Victory) camp

The children of the martyrs who participated in the Zafar (Victory) camp at STEAM center in Guba, organized by the Ministry of Education with the support of the Public Union Zafar (Victory) for support to martyrs’ families, shared their impressions of their pastime.   According to the students, they really enjoyed the camp, where they learned a lot of new and interesting things, made a lot of new friends, and learned lessons from the STEAM program.   Here they learned how to print on a 3D printer, coding, and they also had sports competitions and chess games, which the children also liked a lot. Along with the classes, the students really enjoyed the museums and historical sites in the Guba district.   The camp, which will last until July 31, is attended by 74 students from all over the country.  

Ghazi Elmaddin Mammadov happily cooks food for children of martyrs in "Zafar" (Victory) camp

Elmaddin Mammadov is a participant of the Azerbaijani Patriotic War of 2020. He participated in battles towards Fizuli, Jebrail, Hadrut and Khojavand. He was wounded and hospitalized and has awards for his service. This week Elmaddin is in the Guba district with the children of the Azerbaijani martyrs who fell in the struggle for the territorial integrity of the homeland. He works as a cook - he prepares lunches for the camp participants, and says he is very happy to be here and to be useful. "I consider it an honor to serve the children of my fallen comrades-in-arms," says Elmaddin Mamedov. One-week camp "Zаfаr" (“Victory”) is held from 26 to 31 July in Guba, and is organized by the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan and the Public Union Zafar (Victory) for the support to martyrs’ families.   All events are held at the Guba STEAM Center, a new educational initiative aimed at developing creative, critical and entrepreneurial thinking in students, as well as the ability to use new technologies. The leisure time of children in the camp is organized in such a way as to combine the useful with the pleasant, to broaden their outlooks and learn new skills. For example, to learn how to paint on water (ebru) and play chess, to be able to provide first aid and much more.

Deputy Minister speaks at 2021 Global Education Meeting of the UNESCO

Deputy Minister of Education Mukhtar Mammadov participated in the 2021 Global Education Meeting's Ministerial Segment hold by the UNESCO on 13 July.   UNESCO Director-General Odri Azulay, UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Education Stefania Giannini and educational leaders of a number of countries took part in the virtual event dedicated to the theme of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on education, response measures against the pandemic and activities carried out in the direction of Sustainable Development Goals.   Speaking at the event, Mukhtar Mammadov informed the participants about the steps taken to ensure the sustainability of education in the country during the pandemic, the work done in the field of education to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and the achievements in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals. 

Minister of Education meets with a delegation from Lokman Hekim University of the Republic of Turkey

On July 13, Minister of Education Emin Amrullayev met with the delegation led by the rector of Lokman Hekim University of the Republic of Turkey Bulent Gumushel. During the meeting, the Minister of Education informed the guests of the work carried out within the framework of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey in the field of higher education. The prospects of cooperation between the two countries were also discussed at the meeting.

Minister of Education meets with the Head of the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Azerbaijan

On July 6, Minister of Education Emin Amrullayev met with the Head of the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Kestutis Jankauskas on the occasion of the completion of his diplomatic mission in the Republic of Azerbaijan. The sides exchanged views on joint projects implemented between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the European Union in the field of education. Minister of Education Emin Amrullayev thanked the ambassador for his contribution to the development of relations in the field of education and wished him success in his future endeavors.

International success of school gymnasts

The students of the Specialized Children-Youth Gymnastics School of Olympic Reserves of the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan have achieved high results at the international tournament "Montenegro Cup" held in the city of Budva, Montenegro. Our country was represented by 5 school athletes in the competition, in which more than 200 gymnasts from 12 countries took part. Aysel Rzayeva, competing in the children's age category, won gold in the hoop exercises, Yelizaveta Yefremova in the club exercises, and Zahra Tahirova in the free handed exercises. Fakhriya Aliyeva, competing in the junior age category won bronze in the hoop exercises and Leili Ismayilova (ball and hoop exercises) has become a two time tournament medallist. In total our athletes won 5 gold and 1 bronze medal. It should be noted that both of our gymnasts competing in the junior age category are members of the Azerbaijani national team.   We congratulate our students and wish them even greater success!
