Produced with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the documentary “Targeting Baku. How Hitler Lost the Battle for Oil” was featured in the general education schools of the capital.
The head of the project dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the victory over fascism is Arzu Aliyeva. The film was produced jointly with the Baku Media Center and “Clarke Costelle&Co” (CC&C) production company of France. The purpose of demonstrating the film in the general education schools is to keep alive the heroism history of Azerbaijan and to pass history to the younger generation. The film is a manifestation of deep respect and reverence for the memory of all people, felt the pain of war and contributed to the victory over fascism with their hard work at front and rear. The studies were carried out in Azerbaijan, Germany, USA, Great Britain, France and Russia within the framework of the documentary “Targeting Baku. How Hitler Lost the Battle for Oil” and the sequences, that were not displayed so far, were restored and presented in color format. It should be noted that the film, translated into more than 10 languages, will be broadcasted through "National Geographic" channel in nearly 30 countries from 8 to 10 May. The film is expected to be followed by nearly 50 million spectators. According to experts, all the nations of the world will receive comprehensive and objective information about the role of Azerbaijani people and Baku oil in securing the victory over fascism through this film.

On May 12, the opening ceremony of "Museum Week for schoolchildren - Museums and Ecology" program was held at the National Art Museum of Azerbaijan.
Firudin Gurbanov, Deputy Minister of Education, Sevda Mammadaliyeva, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism, Samir Nuriyev, director of Administration of the State historical-architectural reserve “Icheri Sheher”, Gunay Afandiyeva, First Secretary of the National Commission of Azerbaijan for UNESCO, teachers of secondary schools and students attended the ceremony. It was reported that the Ministry of Education was implementing the "Museum Week for schoolchildren - Museums and Ecology" program with the support of the National Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan for UNESCO from May 12 to 18. The program will cover 15 museums operating in Baku. The purpose of the program is to familiarize students with the sustainable development concept, environmental and ethnographic aspects of collections fund of museums. During familiarization, special attention will be paid to the eco-ethnographic relations and the relationship between the man and the environment will be studied in paintings included in collections fund of museums. The special interactive routes were assigned and the environmental themes were chosen by methodologists of the Republican Ecological Training and Experience Center for a new program. After the official opening, schoolchildren got acquainted with expositions at the National Art Museum of Azerbaijan. It should be noted that every year the International Museum Day is celebrated on May 18. The year 2015 was declared the year of "Museums and sustainable development of society" by the International Council of Museums (ICOM).

Mikayil Jabbarov, Minister of Education received the citizens residing in Agsu, Ismayilli, Shamakhi and Gobustan regions on May 12 in Children's Creative Center in Agsu.
Citizens appealed basicly on recruitment of the teachers or displacement of work place from one school to other one, also from region to other one, restoration to work, recognition of education documents, transfer of students of the higher and secondary specialized schools from one educational institution to another, study fee and other questions in reception, held according to reception schedule of the leaders of central executive power bodies for May, 2015 in the towns and regions. Appeals of 47 citizens were listened in reception and most of problems were settled just on the spot. The instructions, related to a number of appeals, were given to the relevant bodies of the Ministry. Appeals of several citizens that have personal character and aren’t inside of Ministry’ power, were recorded and controlled for delivery in relevant authorities.

The zonal competitions, dedicated to the promotion of 14 kinds of sports, included in the program of the Baku 2015 First European Games, among schoolchildren are continued.
Within the framework of these sporting events, nearly 100 athletes joined the fight for the title of winner in the zonal taekwondo competition, held at Hovsan Olympic Sports Complex among schoolchildren. The teams of Nasimi, Surakhani and Zangilan regions won 1st, 2nd and 3rd places respectively in team score. Another sporting event was held in the stadium of the Azerbaijan State Academy of Physical Training and Sports. About 100 athletes from 12 districts of Baku competed in athletics. The teams of Garadagh, Sabunchu and Narimanov districts won 1st, 2nd and 3rd places respectively in team score. The representatives of the Ministry of Education, local executive bodies and sports community attended the opening ceremony of the competitions. The winners were awarded with diplomas and medals of the Ministry of Education.

They will represent us at the First European Games
We continue to introduce the athletes, who will take part in the first European Games, from sports schools operating under the Ministry of Education. 24 of athletes, who will represent our country at the First European Games, are the graduates of children and youth sports schools operating under the Ministry of Education and the coach-teachers working in these schools. They will compete in 7 sports (athletics, acrobatic gymnastics, badminton, fencing, sambo, freestyle wrestling, table tennis). Karim Musayev is the graduate of the Specialized Olympic Reserves Child-Youth Tennis Sports School no.7. K.Musayev, Azerbaijani champion in badminton, is a student of the Azerbaijan State Academy of Physical Training and Sports. Farhad Ismayilov is a coach-teacher of the Republic Specialized Olympic Reserves Child-Youth Sports School no.1 of “Təhsil” Republic Sports Center. F.Ismayilov, engaged in table tennis, is eleven times champion of Azerbaijan. Haji Aliyev is engaged in freestyle wrestling. H.Aliyev, the winner of the World and European championships, is the graduate of the Children-Youth Sports School of Absheron district. Ekaterina Sokolova is the graduate of the Specialized Olympic Reserves Child-Youth Athletics School no.5 of Baku. Y.Sokolova, engaged in athletics, is the participant of the Balkan Games in Azerbaijan and Istanbul. Orhan Galandarov is the graduate of the Republic Specialized Olympic Reserves Child-Youth Sports School no.2 of “Təhsil” Republic Sports Center. O.Galandarov, studying at the Azerbaijan State Academy of Physical Training and Sports, is engaged in badminton. He is the winner of Azerbaijan championship and the Cup of Azerbaijan.

The representatives of distinguished educational institutions in the field of application of information and communication technologies attended Science and Technology Festival, held in Karamay city of Xinjiang-Uygur autonomous region of China with the support of the Ministry of Education.
A delegation consisting of Gulshan Dadashova, Deputy Director of Children-Youth Creative Center of the Ministry of Education, Aygun Azizova, Deputy Director of ICT of lyceum named after academician Zarifa Aliyeva, Rahila Aliyarzade, Deputy Director of ICT of Baku European Lyceum, and students of a number of educational institutions of Azerbaijan held a presentation of 4 innovative projects at the festival. These projects aroused great interest among the participants. Our representatives were awarded international certificates. During the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation also visited the cultural and educational institutions, exchanged views and experiences in the field of technology with the Chinese youth.

A delegation consisting of the employees of the Ministry of Education and Baku city Education Department visited Dusseldorf, Germany within the framework of the project entitled "Application of inclusive education in primary education level".
The seminar was organized in connection with the German education system within the framework of the visit, carried out with the financial support of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and with the organizational support of International Academy of Management and Technology (INTAMT) for the purpose of exchange of experience. A delegation visited the Department of School Education and the Ministry of professional advancement of teachers in North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony regions of Germany and attended the seminar, held at Regional Office of Education, on the history of the application of inclusive education, management of education, adoption of children with disabilities to school and preparation of special education teachers. The officials of both organizations delivered presentations on the topic of the models of inclusive education for pre-school education, primary education and secondary education levels. During the discussions the strengths and weaknesses of inclusive education, applied in regions, were analyzed. A delegation also visited the preschool educational institutions and schools, where the inclusive education was organized, in Dusseldorf and Hannover, the capital cities of North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony regions. During the visit, there was held a meeting with members of the Parents Association of children involved in inclusive education in Dusseldorf. During the meeting, extensive discussions were held about the role of parents in the development of inclusive education in Germany and the obligations incumbent upon them.

The first stage of “Education Cup” football contest among higher education institutions has been completed.
The contest was attended by teams of 31 higher education institutions. The contest, held on the "Olympic system", was jointly organized by the Ministry of Education and the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA). According to the winning teams of the first stage and the draw results, the team of Azerbaijan Technical University was directly qualified for the 1/8 final round. The purpose of the competition is to ensure the implementation of "State program for the development of football in Azerbaijan for 2005-2015", promote the First European Games to be held in Baku in 2015, involve students in a healthy lifestyle, increase the popularity of football among the students, choose candidates for the student football team of Azerbaijan and the youth football team, provide participation of them in international competitions. The teams, took first 3 places, will be awarded the diplomas, medals, prizes and Cup by the Ministry of Education.

The trainings were conducted on the topic "The use of interactive technologies and electronic content in the educational process for teachers expected to teach in primary classes" and "Training services aimed at improving the ICT literacy for administrative and managerial staff of the education system".
Primary school teachers and administrative staff of schools in Baku attended the trainings, conducted according to the contract signed between the Ministry of Education and the Organization of Innovative Technologies. Initially, the primary teachers and administrative staff underwent a diagnostic evaluation. Teachers and administrative staff, scored fewer points in diagnostic evaluation, were involved in the training. 742 teachers and administrative workers attended the first stage of the trainings and 584 of them were awarded certificates by passing an exam. Computers and promethean boards will be presented to the participants, scored high points in final exam, and teachers and administrative workers, scored high points in the diagnostic evaluation, by the Ministry of Education.
