The exhibition of Circle members with disabilities of Child-Youth Creative Center of Nizami district of The Ministry of Education was organized at "Absheron" Art Gallery.
The works of Narmin Humbatzade, Lala Hasanova, Nigar Mammadova, Ali Isgandarli, Vusal Salmanli and Nihad Valiev were demonstrated in the exhibition entitled "With the language of colors". The main purpose of the three-day exhibition is to identify talented children with special needs and to develop their potential. Agali Ibrahimov, Deputy Chairman of the Artists' Union, Lala Gati, director of Creative Center, Eldaniz Ibrahimov, director of "Absheron" Art Gallery, Nevai Metin, representative of International Union of Activist Artists to Azerbaijan, as well as, teachers and parents attended the opening ceremony. About 60 paintings - compositions made in national and modern style, portraits, nature paintings, decorative compositions of students of Narmin Abdullayeva, the head of “Rəsm” studio, were demonstrated in the exhibition. Art works were prepared in the genres like painting and graphics. It should be noted that these children with special needs participated in Children's Painting Competitions and Exhibitions at a regional, national, and international scale and were awarded certificates and diplomas.

The Republican Ecological Training and Experience Center of the Ministry of Education launches a new training program.
The new program that will be implemented within the framework of “Museum and education programs” project of the National Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan for UNESCO is dedicated to International Museum Day - May 18. The main objective of "Museum Week for schoolchildren - Museums and Ecology" program that will be carried out at the joint initiative of the Republican Ecological Training and Experience Center and the Republican Center for Tourism and Ethnography is to enlighten pupils about the history, ethnographic and cultural exposition of museums, operating in Baku. Gathering information about exhibits, artifacts, creative work related to the project topic, the special interactive methodical - educational routes will be determined and the museum programs will be organized. At the same time, schoolchildren will become familiar with the ecological and ethnographic aspects of the collection fund of the country's leading museums. Also, pupils will be informed about the concept of sustainable development of human, environment and society. It should be noted that every year the International Museum Day is celebrated on May 18. The year 2015 was declared the year of "Museums and sustainable development of society" by the International Council of Museums (ICOM).

The awarding ceremony of winners of the Schoolchildren Chess Festival, dedicated to the 92nd anniversary of the birth of national leader Heydar Aliyev, was organized by the Ministry of Education.
The trophies, diplomas and valuable prizes were presented to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in individual and team scores between boys and girls on 4 age groups by the Ministry of Education. Teams of Sumgait city, Udjar district and Mingachevir city took the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places respectively. It should be noted that the first stage of the competition was conducted among the pilot secondary schools, taught chess as a subject, and there were established the combined teams consisting of winner-students of district (city). More than 3 thousand students from 494 pilot schools, taught chess as a subject, participated in the competitions. About 400 students competed for the title of champion in the final race.

The zonal stage of the Republican contest for artistic performance, held among pupils and students of the first vocational and specialized secondary educational institutions of the Ministry of Education, ended.
The contest was held on the nominations of pop songs of Azerbaijani composers, tasnifs and folk songs, poetry, national dance. It should be noted that the employees of the Republic Creative House for Young Learners together with the jury contributed to the fair organization of the contest and the selection of the most talented students from the participants for the Republic phase.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received Rector of I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University Petr Glybochko.
Petr Glybochko said he was deeply impressed with the ongoing great development processes in Azerbaijan. He touched upon the cooperation with relevant Azerbaijani bodies, saying a lot of Azerbaijanis successfully studied at I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University. On April 21, the Ministry of Education launched the zonal competitions in 14 kinds of sports (cycling, volleyball, table tennis, taekwondo, karate, wrestling, beach soccer, judo, boxing, basketball, badminton, track and field athletics, acrobatics and rhythmic gymnastics) included in the program of the Baku 2015 First European Olympic Games.
These competitions, organized within the framework of the agitation campaign, conducted on the eve of the first European Games, will continue until the end of May. More than 6 thousand students are expected to participate in competitions. The main objective of zonal competitions is to promote 14 kinds of sports, included in the program of the first European Games, among schoolchildren, to direct pupils to a healthy lifestyle and to increase the role of physical education and sports in the patriotic upbringing of the pupils. The winners of the zonal competitions will be awarded with diplomas and valuable gifts by the Ministry of Education.

On April 21, the zonal wrestling competition among schoolchildren began at the Olympic Sports Complex in Shirvan.
The representatives of the Ministry of Education, local executive bodies and sports community attended the opening ceremony of the competition. It should be noted that this competition took place within the framework of the zonal competitions among schoolchildren in 14 kinds of sports (cycling, volleyball, table tennis, taekwondo, karate, wrestling, beach soccer, judo, boxing, basketball, badminton, track and field athletics, acrobatics and rhythmic gymnastics) included in the program of the Baku 2015 First European Olympic Games. Wrestlers competed in 5 weight categories (freestyle: 26, 32, 38, 47, 59 kg., Greco-Roman wrestling: 23, 29, 35, 42, 53 kg.) in both styles during the zonal competition. 160 wrestlers from Hajigabul, Shirvan, Sabirabad, Saatli, Kurdamir, Ujar, Imishli, Zardab, Beylagan, Agjabadi, Fuzuli, Lachin and Khojavand joined the fight for the title of winner. The winners of the two-day competition were awarded with diplomas and valuable gifts by the Ministry of Education. By the corresponding order of Azerbaijan`s Minister of Education Mikayil Jabbarov, Tanzila Shikhiyeva, director of Aghdash State Humanitarian College, and Eldar Aliyev, director of Shusha Music College, were awarded with the Certificate of Honor of the Ministry of Education for their long-term productive activities in the fields of organization and management of education and personnel training.
On April 23, the Certificate of Honor of the Ministry of Education was presented to Tanzila Shikhiyeva and Eldar Aliyev at the Ministry of Education. Presenting awards, Firudin Gurbanov, Deputy Minister of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, emphasized that both specialized secondary educational institutions had passed a rich development path and achieved significant success in terms of personnel training in the relevant fields. He expressed his gratitude to the heads of the institutions for the achievements, gained by them in the organization of teaching, and their productive activities. Tanzila Shikhiyeva and Eldar Aliyev expressed satisfaction with care and attention they received and expressed their gratitude to the leadership of the Ministry of Education. It should be noted that Tanzila Shikhiyeva and Eldar Aliyev were dismissed from their positions according to their own applications relating to working age.
