The Azerbaijani Minister of Science and Education meets with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of Azerbaijan
On November 2, the Azerbaijani Minister of Science and Education, Emin Amrullayev, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Wada Junichi.
During the meeting, satisfaction was expressed with the implementation of 89 educational projects under the “Grass Roots and Human Security” grant program presented by the Government of Japan since 2000. In addition, discussions were held on the implementation of the said program in the coming years in accordance with the list of needs determined by the Ministry of Science and Education.
The Ambassador noted that 9 Japanese-language specialists have been sent to Azerbaijan over the past 22 years to teach Japanese language to students at Baku State University with the support of the Government of Japan. The sides exchanged views on the continuation of the mentioned cooperation in the coming years.
At the meeting, the sides also discussed the possibilities of applying the Kumon method, unique to the Japanese education system, to secondary schools in Azerbaijan with the support of the Ministry of Science and Education.
