The first Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Rectors’ Forum took place
On May 28–29, the First Rectors’ Forum titled “Azerbaijan–Uzbekistan: Priority Directions in the Development of Cooperation in Higher Education” was held in the city of Andijan with the aim of implementing the tasks outlined at the 13th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Uzbekistan on Cooperation and expanding relations in the field of science and higher education.
The event was organized within the framework of the visit of a delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan Idris Isayev to Uzbekistan. The forum was attended by heads of higher education institutions from both countries.
Speaking in the opening of the forum, Uzbekistan’s First Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Shakhruh Daliyev and the Deputy Minister of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan Idris Isayev emphasized the upward trend in cooperation between the two countries in the field of science and higher education, and stated that the forum would contribute to the expansion of inter-university partnerships and the promotion of joint projects.
During the sessions, topics such as the creation of dual degree programs, student and faculty exchange, joint scientific research, and progress in international rankings were discussed.
Within the framework of the forum, cooperation documents were signed between Azerbaijani universities (ASOIU, UNEC, ASU, ASPU, ASUCA, AzTU, AzMIA, AMU, BSU, BMU, BSU, LDU, MSU, NSU, QAFU, SSU) and leading higher education institutions of Uzbekistan, and agreements laying the foundation for new projects were reached.
