Standards and guidelines for quality assurance in higher education discussed
On April 17, with the organizational support of the Education Quality Assurance Agency (EQAA), Azerbaijan hosted a collegial consultation meeting entitled "Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance Agencies in the European Higher Education Area".
The meeting, organized for the first time in the country's higher education system, was attended by Douglas Blackstock, President of the Association for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area, and Colin Tück, Director of the European Quality Assurance Registry for Higher Education.
In her opening speech, Ulkar Sattarova, Chairperson of the EQAA Board, briefed participants on the work done on external quality assurance, the results achieved and the plans for the future.
In his speech, the Minister of Science and Education, Emin Amrullayev, emphasised the importance of studying international standards and practices to ensure external quality and brought to the attention of the event participants the results achieved towards the integration of the Azerbaijani educational space into the European Higher Education Area and forthcoming issues.
On the first day of the event, speakers touched on quality assurance in higher education. They also touched on stakeholder involvement in this area, higher education in Azerbaijan, and other similar issues.
It should be noted that the two-day event will continue tomorrow.
