More than 160,000 first graders in new academic year
In Baku, the number of first graders in the new academic year is 43,397. The schools under Baku City Education Department have a total enrollment of 354,573 pupils.
Twenty-nine new schools were built in the country in the new academic year (including seven schools built at the request of the Ministry of Education). 101 schools were completely overhauled (of them 84 at the request of the Ministry of Education), while in 384 schools necessary repair work was carried out. The construction of 10 educational institutions is underway.
Two boarding schools were completely renovated and inaugurated on the Knowledge Day at the request of the Construction and Supply Department of the Ministry of Education.
