The diagnostic evaluation of teachers working at general educational institutions of Masalli and Jalilabad regions will be held on December 4-6, 2015. The purpose of the diagnostic evaluation is to determine the level of knowledge and skills of teachers, to improve the material well-being by increasing the norm for their teaching loads and salaries, to involve them in growth-oriented trainings on the basis of the result of the evaluation. The diagnostic evaluation, to be held at Masalli Olympic Sports Complex, will be attended by teachers, who work under labor agreement at general educational institutions, included in the system of the Ministry of Education, as their principal place of work, as well as resource teachers and heads of pre-conscription military training of youth. Preparatory work for examinations has already been completed. The information about the time and place of examination held for teachers of general educational institutions of Masalli and Jalilabad regions has been submitted to local education governing bodies in order to deliver them. The teachers may enter their Personal Pages on the official website (www.dq.edu.az) of the Ministry of Education created in connection with the diagnostic evaluation of knowledge and skills of teachers and may get information about time and place of examination. Up to 2500 teachers working at general educational institutions in Masalli region and about 2600 teachers from Jalilabad region are expected to attend the diagnostic evaluation. It should be noted that the teachers will be able to get acquainted with the results of the diagnostic evaluation after completion of exams.

The diagnostic assessment of knowledge and skills of teachers working in secondary schools of Khachmaz region was held on November 28-29, 2015. More than 2300 teachers in 19 general education subjects attended the diagnostic assessment held at Khachmaz Olympic Sports Complex. Immediately after the examinations were over, the results of the diagnostic assessment were announced. The teachers may enter their Personal Pages on the official website (www.dq.edu.az) of the Ministry of Education created in connection with the diagnostic assessment of knowledge and skills of teachers and may get acquainted with results. During the assessment process, 40 test questions in the specialty according to general education program, 20 test questions in methods and teaching strategies were submitted to participants. According to the relevant rules, each correct answer is estimated by 1 point. The knowledge and skills of the teachers, who correctly answered at least 10 percent of test questions in each section, are considered diagnostically assessed.   It should be noted that the diagnostic assessment was attended by teachers, who work under labor agreement in secondary schools, included in the system of the Ministry of Education, as their principal place of work, as well as resource teachers and heads of pre-conscription military training of youth.

207 out of 900 projects, submitted to the Republican contest “Electronic Education”, have been selected as nominees and admitted to the next stage. At the next stage, these projects will be evaluated by the jury in online mode. The purpose of the contest is to encourage teachers who actively use information technology in the teaching process and to support their activities, to promote the best electronic teaching aids among a wide audience of users, to inform the educational community about the new teaching methods implemented by using the possibilities of the internet, to seek new forms of ICT application for teaching purposes, to expand the use of electronic resources in educational institutions, to motivate teachers and students to create electronic resources and to use the available resources. The contest, organized in 6 categories on the "Teacher" and "Student" directions, has been attended by the teaching staff of general education institutions, the Methodist experts of institutions engaged in advanced training and retraining of teaching staff, as well as schoolchildren. The contest is supported by  "Dr. Web "," AzEduNet "," Ultra ", the Additional Education Center for "Innovative Technologies in Education", "Edumedia Azerbaijan" and "Nar Mobile". On November 26, the Charity Fair was held in school-lyceum No. 62 in Baku. The fair was organized within the framework of the project of school communities established in 54 schools of the country on the initiative of the Ministry of Education. It is planned to send money, received from the fair held for charitable purposes, to orphanages. The school community, covering 3 grades of school at the initial stage, will be expanded in the future. The handicraft wares, produced by second, seventh and eighth grade students, were on sale at the fair. New Year toys, jewelry, natural potted flowers, artificial flowers, sweets, books, pictures and other handicrafts, submitted by schoolchildren, were met with a great interest of the participants. The Nizami District Executive Power, the district`s local autonomous bodies and private entities provided support to the initiative of the school community. It should be noted that the communities, organized under the motto "We study, rest and develop together", are parent-teacher-student associations established in order to make school life more interesting. The main objective of the school community project, implemented since September 2015, is to ensure the comprehensive formation of pupils and to provide support for children's creative ability, and for development of social skills that will be needed in their future lives.

Within the framework of the "Olympic Movement" project, Baku city championship for schoolchildren is held in athletics, cycling, badminton and basketball among 7th-11th grade students. The main objective of the competitions, jointly organized by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the National Olympic Committee, is to promote the Olympic Movement among schoolchildren, to increase interest in the subject of physical education in secondary schools, to strengthen cooperation between physical education teachers and sporting schools, sports federations, to encourage parents in order to enable pupils to engage in sports activities, to promote the legacy of the Baku-2015 First European Games, to make effective use of Olympic Sports Complexes and sports facilities, and to increase the popularity of target sports. In accordance with the program of Baku city championship, pupils compete in school-based, district and final stages. The competitions have been attended by nearly sixty thousand schoolchildren. The winners of the second stage of the competitions in various kinds of sports activities will be awarded with diploma and a cup, as well as the teams, winning the first, second and third places in the final, and their coaches will be awarded the cash prize.
