The event was organized under the leadership of Emine Erdoğan, First Lady of Türkiye, by the Ministry of Family and Social Services of the Republic of Türkiye, in cooperation with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the Office of the UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Violence Against Children.

The event brought together first ladies from several countries, senior government officials, representatives of the United Nations and other international organizations, as well as representatives of the private sector, academia, and civil society.

The discussions focused on the risks faced by children in the digital environment, the protection of their online safety, the promotion of age-appropriate digital services, the strengthening of the responsibility of technology companies and digital platforms, as well as the impact of artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies on children’s safety.

During the meeting, the participants also exchanged views on establishing common international minimum standards for the protection of children in the digital environment within the framework of the United Nations, as well as on strengthening cooperation between states, international organizations, technology companies, and other stakeholders.
