The Minister of Science and Education attends the 8th meeting of Scientific Council of Turkic Academy
On 8 June, the 8th meeting of the Scientific Council of the Turkic Academy was held in the city of Turkestan, Republic of Kazakhstan.
The meeting was attended by official representatives of the bodies responsible for science and education in the member states and observer states of the Organization of Turkic States, as well as the President of the Turkic Academy, Shahin Mustafayev.
The meeting discussed the activities of the Turkic Academy for 2024–2025, the projects and events carried out this year, as well as the action plan for 2026, priority areas of research and significant anniversaries in the Turkic world.
Speaking at the meeting, Emin Amrullayev, Minister of Science and Education, reported on the work carried out to expand joint research initiatives, academic exchanges and institutional cooperation between higher education and research institutions during Azerbaijan’s chairmanship of the Scientific Council of the Turkish Academy.
The Minister noted that Azerbaijan attaches particular importance to an innovation-driven model of development in the field of science and technology, and that the main areas of focus include artificial intelligence, biotechnology, quantum technology, digital transformation and renewable energy.
The Minister emphasized that the Turkic Academy plays a vital role in strengthening the collective scientific capacity of the Turkic world, as well as in developing research centres and mechanisms for knowledge exchange. He also noted that the events marking the 100th anniversary of the First Turkic Congress, held in Baku, are of particular significance in terms of safeguarding and promoting the scientific, cultural and linguistic heritage of the Turkic world.
Following the meeting, it was decided to transfer the chairmanship of the Scientific Council of the Turkic Academy of Sciences from the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and to hold the 9th meeting of the Scientific Council in the Kyrgyz Republic.
