The Ministry of Science and Education and Microsoft expand access to digital tools in higher education institutions
Within the framework of the ongoing cooperation between the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Microsoft, efforts to establish a unified digital ecosystem across higher education institutions continue to advance. This collaboration aims to expand access to modern digital tools for academic staff, students, and administrative personnel, while promoting the integration of digital solutions into both teaching and institutional management processes.
As part of a centralized approach, a total of 20 higher education institutions are expected to be equipped with licensed Microsoft tools. To date, all necessary technical and organizational preparations have been completed, and Microsoft solutions have been successfully deployed at Azerbaijan State University of Economics, Azerbaijan Technical University, Karabakh University, Ganja State University, Sumgait State University, Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University, Azerbaijan University of Languages, Azerbaijan Technological University, Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University, and Mingachevir State University. The onboarding process is continuing in a phased manner at the remaining higher education institutions.
The artificial intelligence–based solutions available through the Microsoft platform, particularly the Copilot tool, provide educators with additional opportunities to enhance the efficiency of academic activities, including lesson planning, the development of instructional materials, assessment processes, and other teaching-related tasks. The adoption of AI-powered tools contributes to optimizing faculty workload and improving the overall quality of education.
This program, implemented through the partnership between the Ministry of Science and Education and Microsoft, is of significant importance for accelerating digital transformation within the higher education system, fostering the integration of innovative technologies into the learning environment, and supporting the development of digitally skilled human capital.
