The Minister of Science and Education took part in the inauguration of the football pitch built as part of the “FIFA Arena” project
The opening ceremony for the football pitch built at a secondary school No. 247 as part of the “FIFA Arena” project took place on 8 September.
The event was attended by AFFA President Rovshan Najaf, the Minister of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan Emin Amrullayev, President of the Ukrainian Association of Football Andriy Shevchenko, officials from AFFA, FIFA, and the Ministry of Science and Education, representatives of the football community, and schoolchildren.
The speeches emphasized the importance of such projects for the healthy development of schoolchildren, the promotion of sports culture, and the popularization of football. During the event, a video message from FIFA President Gianni Infantino about the successful implementation of the project was also shown.
It should be noted that, as part of the ‘FIFA Arena’ project, football pitches were built at two secondary schools in Baku city (Schools #138 and #247) at the initiative of the AFFA (Azerbaijan Football Federation Association). More than 6,000 students will directly benefit from this project.
