Our national team achieved an outstanding milestone at the 29th Junior Balkan Mathematical Olympiad (JBMO 2025) held in Struga, North Macedonia, from 24 to 29 June
Farhad Iskander, a 9th grade pupil of Baku Lyceum #287 ‘Zakyalar’, won a gold medal, Huseyn Zeynalov and Farrukh Burzu, 9th grade pupils of the Baku Turkish Lyceum of Türkiye Diyanet Foundation, won silver medals, Turan Musayev, a 9th grade pupil of Sheki Lyceum with chemical-biological bias, and Murad Safarli, a 9th grade pupil of Baku Lyceum with physical-mathematical and informatics bias, won bronze medals. A total of 5 medals were won: 1 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze.
It should be noted that Farhad Iskander, a member of the Azerbaijani team, who won the gold medal, solved all the tasks presented at the Olympiad and gained the maximum result, i.e. 40 points out of possible 40, for which he was awarded the nomination ‘First of first’ of the Olympiad.
