The deputy minister addressed the 14th session of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan
On 20 June, Firudin Gurbanov, the Deputy Minister of Science and Education, participated in the 14th session of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
At a session at the Ministry of Economy, Deputy Minister Firudin Gurbanov emphasized that the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan is based on the political will of the heads of two states, historically developing fraternal relations, and agreements reached between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Uzbekistan. It was noted that there are broad opportunities for expanding cooperation in the fields of science and education, implementing joint projects, and exchanging experience.
During the Joint Intergovernmental Commission session, there were also extensive discussions on issues related to the diversification of trade and economic ties, the promotion of investment, the current state and prospects for further development of cooperation in the fields of industry, energy, agriculture and other areas.
The co-chairs of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission – Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov and Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade, Laziz Kudratov, delivering speeches at the session, highly valued the efforts made to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries and exchanged views on expanding cooperation into new areas.
At the end of the event, a Protocol summarizing the outcomes of the session was signed by the co-chairs of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission.
