He taught Azerbaijani and Russian languages at the faculties of Oriental Studies and Pedagogy of the Azerbaijan State University, and later at the Pedagogical, Medical and Petroleum Institutes. In 1938, he began working as a senior teacher of Russian language at the Kharezm Province Pedagogical Institute in Uzbekistan, and was also appointed director of the institute's library.
