Heads of city educational departments of the Republic of Turkey are on a visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The heads of the educational departments of Ankara, Istanbul, Antalya and Izmir are visiting the Republic of Azerbaijan to discuss opportunities for expanding cooperation in the field of general and vocational education between Azerbaijan and Turkey.
As part of the visit, the delegation first visited the Alley of Honor, paid tribute to national leader Heydar Aliyev and laid flowers at his tomb. The grave of the famous scientist and ophthalmologist, academician Mrs. Zarifa Aliyeva was also visited. Then, the memory of martyrs who died in the fight for independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan was honored by the Turkish delegation in the Alley of Martyrs, and carnations were placed on their graves. Also on the Alley of Martyrs the Turkish delegation visited the Turkish Martyrs’ Memorial, erected in memory of fallen Turkish soldiers.
Within the framework of the visit, the delegation visited the Heydar Aliyev Modern Education Complex and kindergarten No.17 located in Baku. The guests got acquainted with the conditions created in these educational institutions.
Then a meeting with the Turkish guests was held at the Department of Education in Baku. During the meeting the participants exchanged their views on the current state and prospects of cooperation between the pre-school and general educational institutions of the two countries, as well as the projects being implemented. At the end of the meeting, a Protocol of Intent was signed between the Baku City Education Department and the Educational Departments of Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir and Antalya.
During the visit, the delegation from Turkey got acquainted with the classrooms, where the projects "STEAM" and "Digital skills" are implemented in school-lyceum № 20, and also visited the specialized secondary music school named after Byulbyul.
As part of the visit, Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev met with the heads of the departments of education in Ankara, Istanbul, Antalya and Izmir. During the meeting, extensive information was given on the joint activities carried out in the field of education with the Republic of Turkey, and satisfaction was expressed with the ongoing exchange of experience in the field of education. Emin Amrullayev thanked the Turkish delegation for supporting the participation of heads of general and vocational educational institutions of Azerbaijan in trainings held in Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir.
