9 September- the International Day to Protect Education from Attack
In accordance with the Resolution 74/275 adopted by the United Nations General Assembly, 9 September was declared the International Day to Protect Education from Attack.
During the 44-days war last year, Armenia deliberately targeted schools in gross violation of international humanitarian law, killing 10 and injuring 14 students and destroying 60 of our schools.
The Ministry of Education has started an international Twitter campaign under the hashtags #UniteToProtect #EducationUnderAttack #Azerbaijan.
The aim of the campaign is to emphasize Armenia's responsibility for war crimes committed against Azerbaijani schoolchildren. At the same time, it is important to highlight the importance of children’s right to education in a safe environment.
