Firudin Gurbanov attends the opening ceremony of the 3rd International Mathematics Olympiad, held in Turkmenistan
Deputy Minister of Science and Education Firudin Gurbanov visited the city of Ashgabat in Turkmenistan.
During his visit, the Deputy Minister attended the opening ceremony of the 3rd International Mathematics Olympiad for school students, held at the Magtymguly Turkmen State University at the invitation of Turkmenistan’s Minister of Education, Jumamyrat Gurbangeldiyev.
As part of the Olympiad, Firudin Gurbanov toured the stands and displays set up by the students.
At the opening ceremony of the Olympiad, the deputy minister informed the participants about the friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan, as well as about cooperation in the fields of science and education. In his speech, Firudin Gurbanov particularly emphasized the role of intellectual games and knowledge competitions in the development of students. The Deputy Minister offered advice to the Olympiad participants and wished them success.
Following the Olympiad opening ceremony, the deputy minister met with the leadership of the Magtymguly Turkmen State University. He also toured the university museum and a display dedicated to the great Turkmen thinker and poet Magtymguly Fragi.
It should be mentioned that Gismet Gozalov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Turkmenistan, attended the opening ceremony of the 3rd International Mathematics Olympiad, as well as a meeting with the leadership of the Magtymguly Turkmen State University.
