The pupils of sport schools of The Ministry of Education took part in the European championship held among the juveniles on chess in Batumi, Georgia.
Azerbaijan’s chess-players achieved bright success in the championship lasted for 11 days.
989 athlets from 45 countires of Europe, took part in the contest held on 6 age groups. Ulviyya Fataiyeva, representative of Ganja chess school kept 2 nd place among 18 aged girls, Malak Ismayil, representative of Sumgait chess school 2 nd place among 10 aged girls, Govhar Beydullayev representative of Chess Club of Azerbaijan Trade Unions Sport Organizations 2 nd place among 12 aged girls, Aydan Hojatova, representative of Republic Specialized Olympic Reserves Child-Youth Chess School kept 3 rd place among 16 aged girls, Parviz Gasimov, representative of Nakhchivan chess school 3 rd place among 14 aged boys.
As a result of contest, winning 2 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals Azerbaijan’s chess-players kept 2 nd place on team score.
