Ecological summer camp under slogan “Lets’ keep” in Masalli region within framwork of project “Protection of Caucasus leopards” has been held by joint organization Azerbaijan Representation of World Nature Protection Fund (WWF), IDEA Public Union, Heydar Aliyev Center and The Ministry of Education.
Main goal of organization of camp where 30 pupils that consist of VII-IX pupils of the secondary schools of mountain villages of Astara, Lankaran and Lerik regions partisipated, was to inform the pupils living near the locations where Caucasus leopards live about this spice and agitate their protection.
Elshad Asgarov, Sevinc Sarukhanova, the collaborators of Azerbaijan Representation of World Nature Protection Fund (WWF), Mahabbat Meydiyeva, department head of Heydar Aliyev Center, Nazakat Heydarova, collaborator of IDEA (Internatinal Dialogue For Environmental Protection) Public Union, Lala Dadashova, deputy director of Republic Ecological Education and Training Center (REETC) of The Ministry of Education, the collaborators of Hirkan National Park, Masalli Education Department made a speech and gave their recommendations on protection of environment and rare species.
Camp’ participants were widely informed on life style, spreaded areas, biological features, importance in nature and perish reasons within 3 days under special program prepared by Republic Ecological Education and Training Center’ collaborators.
Young ecologists made hydrobiological researches in order to determine purity of water via Vudvis’ bioindex method and defined pollution ratio during excursion to watrefall. Camp’ participants tested their knowledges in ecological quiz on the topic “Where leopard lives” also actively took part in drawing contest and ecological games.
At the end of camp, the participants were awarded to certificate and the prizes presented by Azerbaijan Representation of World Nature Protection Fund (WWF), IDEA Pubic Union, Heydar Aliyev Center, Republic Ecological Education and Training Center of The Ministry of Education.
It should be noted that, project on protection of Caucasus leopard directed was started by WWF since 2002. There is effective result of the actions performed by Leyla Aliyeva, leader and founder of IDEA Public Union, vice-president of Heydar Aliyev Fund within framework of program “Great Five” which surrounds protection of 5 fauna species (bear, wolf, gazelle, eagle and leopard) who faced with perish danger in Caucasus
We should specially point Caucasus Biodiversity Summit dedicated o the species that belong to felidsfamily held by organizational support of Heydar Aliyev Fund and Heydar Aliyev Center, initiative of IDEA Public Union on May 7, 2014 in Heydar Aliyev Center among performed works.
Summit hed by participation of world foremost experts, was one of the greatest steps made on the direction of protection of the leopards living in Caucasus.
It was noted that, Leyla Aliyeva, vice-president of Heydar Aliyev Fund, leader and founder of IDEA Public Union made a speech and stressed that ist’difficult to hope for environmental protection without youth’ support.
