Press conference on presentation of sabah.edu.az website and commencement of registration of the students to SABAH groups held on May 13 in The Ministry of Education.
Yagub Piriyev, Deputy Head of Administration of The Ministry of Education, Casarat Valehov, Head of Department on Work with NGO and Mass Media, Sulhaddin Gozalov, Head of Department on Exchange of Programs and Support to the Students took part in the conference.
It was noted that, main goal of establishment of SABAH groups is to increase quality of education, form strong competition among the students and train personnel under modern requirements level. It was noted that, registration of the students who want to study in SABAH groups starts since this date and this process will last till May 31. SABAH groups will be established on basis of 8 enterprises from 33 universities and it will surround 5 specialty group with 52 specialties, generally 20 000 students.
Admission process where the students whose scores are more than 61 points take part, will consist of 3 phases in the first semester. Student who is registered in the first phase then will answer generally 50 questions both of 25 logic and 25 foreign language in the second phase. Oral interview will be organized for the students in the third phase.
1300 students will study at SABAH groups since second years from the next academic year. Not only the students of state universities but also the students of private universities will be able to appeal in order to study at SABAH groups.
Newly created sabah.edu.az website has been presented to media representatives in this event, it was stressed the details on admission procedures of the students to SABAH groups, selection terms and other such kind of questions. It was noted that, e-registration of the students who want to study at SABAH groups is performed via this site.
It was informed about commencement of document submission for the youth who want to study at the universities of foreign countries under academic year 2014-2015 within framework of “State Program under study of Azerbaijani’ youth in abroad for 2007-2015” in press conference. It was noted, document submission for study in abroad will be implemented via electronic from May 20 to August 8. Application for participation in competition will be accepted in only electronic form but not to come to The Ministry of Education or submit the documents to the Ministry via post. Scholars of State Program are selected through the citizens of Azerbaijan who has 29 years under bachelor degree, as well as 35 years under master, doctoral and residency degrees.
