Azərbaycan SSR Xalq Komissarları Sovetinin 28 aprel 1920-ci il tarixli qərarı ilə Xalq Maarifi Nazirliyinin adı dəyişdirilərək Xalq Maarifi Komissarlığı adı ilə yenidən təşkil edilib və ölkədəki bütün təhsil müəssisələri bu qurumun tabeliyinə verilib.

The number of educational establishments involved in “E-school” project has risen to 40 within expansion measures for the use of e-education technologies in the 2011/2012 academic year and development of ICT infrastructure.

2000 students have received netbooks within “One pupil-one computer” project.

www.mesafedenmekteb.edu.az were given to the use in order to involve teachers, students and parents in the education process, Moreover, 500 education establishments were connected to Azerbaijan Educational Network (Intranet and Internet), as a result, the number of schools connected to the AEN has reached 1 200. There were established Distance Education Centre for children with special needs, and educational portal

Furthermore, 1300 pedagogical staff was involved in training courses for the use of ICT in the education. As a result, the total number of teachers, who have been trained within State Program on informatization of education system in the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2008-2012, has reached 76 980 (52 %) people.
