130454 children are expected to be enrolled in the first grade of secondary schools of the country in 2012/2013 academic year.
The number of children enrolled in the first grade in 2011/2012 academic year was 125408, in 2010/2011 school year 120032 children.
36 102 children are expected to be enrolled in the first grade of schools of Baku in the new academic year. Their number has reached 35 509 children in the last school year.
According to the relevant Rules confirmed with the order of the Minister of Education, six-year old mentally and physically healthy children are enrolled in secondary schools until September 15. In exceptional circumstances, talented children, who will turn six from September 15 to the end of October, could be enrolled in the first grade based on the conclusion made by the commission established at school. Talented children, who will turn 6 in November, could be enrolled in the first grade based on the relative decision made by the commission established at the Ministry of Education from the beginning of August to 10 September.
