On March 1 at the Heydar Aliyev Foundation was signed a declaration of intent by Heydar Aliyev Foundation, France Embassy to Azerbaijan, State Oil Company of Azerbaijan and Ministry of Education to build French School in Baku.
The ceremony was attended by Mehriban Aliyeva, the President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
Noting the creation of school that will give an opportunity for French speaking people temporarily or permanently lived in Azerbaijan to study in French, Mehriban Aliyeva, the President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation underlined the importance of this project that will have a positive impact on the development process of the education area of Azerbaijan. She highly estimated relations between Azerbaijan and France and noted that both countries have developed bilateral ties in all areas of collaboration. According to her, this project is a next step in the development of cooperation.
Mrs. Aliyeva noted a human factor is a wealth of each country and stated that the future of the country depends on children studied at schools. Therefore, necessary steps are being taken to develop the secondary education as a priority field, and teach to the young generation the knowledge.
Speaking at the ceremony French ambassador to Azerbaijan Gabriel Keller expressed his gratitude to the President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Mehriban Aliyeva for the organization of the ceremony. He added that this day has a great importance for Azerbaijan – France's relations.
Speaking on works done in the education area of the country, Education Minister Misir Mardanov underlined projects implemented by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in the education field. He noted that the Foundation has conducted a wide range of projects in the education area. According to him, by the initiative of Foundation has been built more than 300 new educational establishments.
President of State Oil Company Rovnag Abdullayev noted the existence of favorable investment environment in the country. According to him the interest of foreign investors in Azerbaijan is increasing. He underlined that the building of French language school in Azerbaijan is a positive contribution to children of French speaking citizens coming to Azerbaijan to work in the oil-gas industry.
Further, Mehriban Aliyeva, the President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, French ambassador to Azerbaijan Gabriel Keller, Rovnag Abdullayev, president of State Oil Company of Azerbaijan, and Education Minister Misir Mardanov signed a declaration of intent on the building of French school.
According to the declaration, the educational plan of the French school will start from kindergarten and will correspond to the classic French model used in the 12-year institution of general education. The education program will be implemented in French language. The French government will recognize the school certificate. Graduates of the school will have the opportunity to continue their studies at any higher education establishments of France.
At the end Mehriban Aliyeva, the President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation expressed her hope that such kind of fruitful cooperation will continue in the future.
