Brilliant victory at the 12th European Girls' Mathematical Olympiad
The 12th European Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad (EGMO) was held from 13th to 19th April in Portorož, Slovenia. Our country was represented by 4 students at the Olympiad, which was attended by 213 students from 57 countries.
Our students performed well in the Olympics, winning 1 gold, 1 bronze medal and 2 recognition awards.
Thus, Fidan Garayeva, a student of 11th grade of the Physics, Mathematics and Informatics biased lyceum under the Ministry of Science and Education, has won a gold medal, Sevinj Mahmudova a student of 10th grade of the Baku Turkish Lyceum “Turkiya Diyanat Vagfi” has won a bronze medal and Fidan Jafarli and Safura Ramizgizy, 11th grade students from the same lyceum, received a certificate for the “Encouragement Award”.
It should be noted that Fidan Garayeva was among 14 contestants who achieved the highest results in the competition, scoring all 42 points.
