• Azərbaycan Xalq Cümhuriyyəti hökumətinin 1918-ci il 28 may tarixli qərarı ilə maarif və təhsil üzrə ilk nazirlik-Xalq Maarifi Nazirliyi yaradılıb. Nazirlər Şurasının 30 iyun 1918-ci il tarixli qərarı ilə Xalq Maarifi Nazirliyinin üç şöbədən (ümumi orta təhsil, ali və orta ixtisas təhsili, peşə məktəbləri) ibarət strukturu təsdiq olunub.

    Azərbaycan SSR Xalq Komissarları Sovetinin 28 aprel 1920-ci il tarixli qərarı ilə Xalq Maarifi Nazirliyinin adı dəyişdirilərək Xalq Maarifi Komissarlığı adı ilə yenidən təşkil edilib və ölkədəki bütün təhsil müəssisələri bu qurumun tabeliyinə verilib.

The Awards Ceremony of the winners of 44th Pupils International Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad was held at the Crescent Beach Hotel, on May 3.

Having opened the event, Education Minister, Misir Mardanov, welcomed the participants and guests to the International Mendeleev Olympiad. The Minister underlined the special role of the member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, co-chair of the Organizing Committee of the Olympiad, Valery Lunin, correspondent member of ANAS, Professor Vagif Abbasov, and the head of Education Ministry Department, Aydin Ahmadov, in organizing the Olympiad. He also congratulated V. Lunin on 70th anniversary, wished him new success in his fruitful activity.
The correspondent member of the ANAS, Professor Vagif Abbasov in its speech noted the care of President Ilham Aliyev plays a special role in the heightened interest to the Olympiad. Having stressed the knowledge contest has successfully finished; V. Abbasov informed that the Olympiad winners will be awarded diplomas, as well as bronze, silver and gold medals.
Afterwards, presents were handed over to winners, who have been chosen by a jury consisting of international scientists in chemistry.
At the Olympiad with participation of 14 countries Azerbaijani pupils had won 1 gold (from 10), and 3 bronze (from 27) medals. From 12 pupils presented our country Agil Azimzade, student of Lenkeran Private Turkish Lyceum won the gold, Rashad Yusifov, student of Guba Private Turkish Lyceum, Agil Safarlizade, 10th grade pupil of Dada Gorgud Lyseum, and Vugar Mirzakhanov, 11th grade pupil of Baku school No.60 had won bronze medals.
V. Lunin, co-chair of the Organizing Committee of the Olympiad, expressed satisfaction from holding the 44th Pupils International Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad for a second time in Baku, and underlined great achievements of President Ilham Aliyev, who successfully continue the policy of national leader Heydar Aliyev, in the development of the country He has thanked the Education Minister, Misir Mardanov and others for helping to organize this knowledge contest.
The Education Minister, Misir Mardanov congratulated all winners of the Olympiad, and thanked the organizers. Azerbaijani teachers, pupils and scientists have won in this contest, and winning gold, as well as three bronze medals is a great achievement, the Minister said. Having noted winners could have entered the Chemistry Department of Moscow State University, named after M. Lomonosov, University of Toronto (Canada) and other authoritative universities of the world without any examination, the Minister informed that 21 winners of the Olympiad are continuing their education at the Chemistry Department of Moscow State University.
