The Second International Forum on "New Challenges in Education" has started.
The Second International Forum on New Challenges in Education took place on 1 October.
In his opening speech at the forum, the Minister of Education Emin Amrullayev highly appreciated the importance of the forum, thanked the organizers and speakers and noted that the issues to be discussed at the forum would contribute greatly to Azerbaijani education. Conveying his congratulations to teachers on the occasion of the International Teachers' Day, the Education Minister stressed the importance of sharing different ideas.
Noting that the education process in Azerbaijan is facing new realities, the Education Minister Emin Amrullayev said that new opportunities were created in the post-conflict period, and opportunities for providing the present generation with good education were expanded. The Minister also spoke about the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the education process. He considered the use of new technologies as a positive development.
At the end of his speech, the Minister wished success to the forum.
Then, Jafar Mansimi, coordinator of the T-Network educators' experience and communication platform informed about the goals and objectives of the international forum. It was noted that the forum dedicated to the International Teachers' Day is guided by the “Azerbaijan 2030: National Priorities for Socio-Economic Development” adopted by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev and the document "Education in accordance with the requirements of the XXI century."
The international forum was attended by Andreas Schleicher, director of the Program for International Student Assessment (PISA), Philip Kotler, distinguished professor, writer, researcher and author of the bestsellers, Michael Fullan, professor emeritus at the University of Toronto and creator of the theory of "Deep Learning", Anant Agarwal, founder of the world-renowned edX platform and MIT professor, Asra Cohen, psychologist, writer, bestselling author in Turkey and Italy, Sal Khan, founder of the globally recognized "Khan Academy". They made presentations and shared their experiences.
The International forum under the title of ”From Initiative to Application" covered the topics of virtual education, international assessment, leadership, 21st century skills and sustainable development.
It should be noted that the 2nd International Forum "New Challenges in Education" was organized by the T-Network educators' experience and communication platform and the Institute of Education, with the support of the Ministry of Education, Azerbaijan Young Teachers Association, the “One Volunteer” Student Cooperation Public Union. The information partner of the forum is "Azerbaijan teacher" newspaper and" Azerbaijan school " magazine.
