The 44th Pupils International Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad will be held in Baku, from 27 April to 3 May.
The Olympiad will be held in Crescent Beach Hotel. Pupils from CIS countries and Baltic States, as well as Azerbaijan are expected to participate widely in Olympiad. Furthermore, delegates from Bulgaria, Romania, Macedonia and other countries also will take part in the Olympiad. The government of Azerbaijan intends to allocate 220 750 manat to the Olympiad preparation.
During the last 10 years, the Olympiad was held in many countries, including Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, Moldavia, Tajikistan, Armenia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan. The 34th International Mendeleev Olympiad was held in 2000, in Azerbaijan. The names of the majority Azerbaijani pupils are among names of winners. Many of them continue their studies in Moscow State University, and some of them have already graduated from this famous institution.
