French delegation visits French-Azerbaijani University (UFAZ)
A delegation of the French Republic visited the French-Azerbaijani University (UFAZ) on January 11.
Minister of Education Mikayil Jabbarov, French Minister of State for Development and Francophonie attached to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development Jean-Marie Le Guen, president of the University of Strasbourg Michel Deneken, president of the University of Rennes 1 David Alis met with students at the French-Azerbaijani University.
The meeting featured the signing of several memorandums of understanding on cooperation involving president of the University of Strasbourg Michel Deneken, president of the University of Rennes 1 David Alis and rector of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industrial University Mustafa Babanli.
Minister of Education Mikayil Jabbarov and French Minister of State for Development and Francophonie attached to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development Jean-Marie Le Guen then gave a media briefing.
A joint initiative of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the French Republic Francois Hollande, the French-Azerbaijani University announced its first enrollment in 2016-2017 academic year.
UFAZ was established under an international partnership agreement between Azerbaijan State Oil and Industrial University and the University of Strasbourg. UFAZ has an enrollment of 141 students in four disciplines: Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, Geophysical Engineering, and Oil Exploration and Exploitation.
