The discussions on the transition to a 12-year general education system continue

On March 15, the Round Table on the transition to a 12-year general education system was held in Sumgait.

The discussions were attended by senior officials of the Ministry of Education, leadership and employees of Sumgait City Education Department, heads of general educational institutions of the city, teachers and parents.

At the Round Table, the participants were informed about the advantages of a 12-year general education system, the global experience in this field, the necessary steps that will be taken in connection with preparation for the process, and the main goals of the transition to a new model of general education.

Taking into account the requirements of the twenty-first century and the characteristics of the labor market in connection with the transition to a 12-year general education system, the speakers put forward proposals on the optimal determination of content and teaching loads, the implementation of education on subject-orientations at the level of complete secondary education, the need to increase opportunities for vocational education, and the possible models of general education by taking into consideration the preschool education stage.
