Mediatour to the Olympiads Training Center for pupils
In the 21 of October the Media tour to the Training Center for Olympiad was held. The Center was opened in the Lyceum with physics, mathematics and computer science bias under the Ministry of Education.
Journalists were informed that the similar Center is opened in the Lyceum with chemistry and biology bias under the Ministry Education. To ensure successful performance of Azerbaijani pupils on International Olympiads on subjects both centers are provided with material technical base needed to prepare pupils on the high level. Pupils are also provided with meals and if it is necessary with place in campus at public expense. Taking in account the importance of reviling talented pupils at subject Olympiads and intellectual contests some important steps were taken. Last year more than 22 thousands pupils took part in republican subject Olympiads, that is in 4,5 times more than in the previous year. This year Azerbaijan has taken 48th place among 105 countries on International Olympiad on math, and on the World Olympiads on subjects our pupils took 1 silver and 8 bronze medals.
During the tour were stressed that at the qualifying round 20-25 pupils of VI-VIII classes and 15-20 pupils IX-XI classes were selected for training in the Center.
Pupils started trainings in the Centers on physics, mathematics, chemistry, biology and computer science on special programs. During the academic year they will pass exams and the results of the exams will reveal who will present our country on International Olympiads. However, pupils will be involved in winter and summer Olympiad schools during winter and summer holidays.
Mass media agents took part in lessons on physics and mathematics, and examined the conditions at the campus.
