Azerbaijani judo fighters won gold and bronze medals in the competitions
The teenage judo fighters of the Specialized Olympic Reserves Child-Youth Sports School No.13 of the Ministry of Education successfully returned from the international tournaments.
More than 1200 athletes from 25 countries participated in the tournament, which was held in Warsaw, Poland. Our country was represented by 12 judo fighters of the Specialized Olympic Reserves Child-Youth Sports School No.13 in the competition. Chingiz Fattahov won the third place and was awarded a bronze medal in 46 kg weight category, Akbar Guliyev and Ilgar Habilov took the third place and won a bronze medal in 55 kg weight category in the tournament.
After the tournament, Azerbaijani judo fighters attended the 3-day training-coaching session, held under the leadership of Waldemar Legien, Olympic and World Champion.
Another international tournament was held in Irkutsk, Russia. This competition was attended by 250 athletes from 12 countries. Among the judo fighters representing the Republic of Azerbaijan, Tofig Mammadov and Pasha Aliyev won the first place and were awarded a gold medal in 60 kg and 73 kg weight categories respectively.
