The closing ceremony of “Təməl” Scholarship Program, which is a joint project of the Ministry of Education, Baku Advanced Training and Retraining Institute of Pedagogical Cadres, UNICEF and "İnkişaf" Republican Scientific and Practical Center, was held on September 18.
The ceremony was attended by Jeyhun Bayramov, Deputy Minister of Education, Andro Shilakadze, head of UNICEF in Azerbaijan, directors of secondary schools and teachers.
Giving a speech at the event, Jeyhun Bayramov, Deputy Minister of Education, underlined the importance of the project. The Deputy Minister noted that the main purpose of the advanced training course, prepared in a new form and content, is to raise the level of professionalism of a group of primary school teachers of the schools operating in Baku.
Lesson observation for teachers working at primary education level, interview with parents, analysis of the student results allowed to identify the strengths and weaknesses of primary school teachers. The advanced training program modules were prepared on the basis of this analysis.
Teachers participated in lectures and practical sessions on such topics as philosophy and mission of primary education, modern pedagogical and psychological approaches, methodology and didactics, classroom management, personal development, time management, planning, digital literacy during the training course, which lasted two and a half months. More than 20 specialists were involved in carrying out theoretical and practical sessions.
113 out of 114 people, who took part in the scholarship program, participated in the final assessment process. 65 of them successfully passed the exam and were awarded the Certificate of “Təməl”.
It should be noted that the classrooms of participants, successfully completed the program, are equipped with ICT equipment.
