The Ministry of Education organizes the Republican art contest under the theme "Let`s unite for peace" on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of UNESCO together with UNESCO Center on Human Rights, Democracy and Problems of Peace of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The purpose of the contest, dedicated to the International Day of Peace, 21 September, is to draw children and young people`s attention to the International Day of Peace, to instill a spirit of nonviolence, peacefulness, patriotism and respect for the traditions in them, to increase their artistic and aesthetic levels, to identify children with special talents and to support the development of their abilities.
The competition, to be held among pupils of secondary and boarding schools, and circle members of out-of-school educational institutions, will be organized in three age groups.
The competition will primarily be held within the schools and among the district (city) schools. The first place winners of this stage will win the right to participate in the Republican stage. 9 winning works will be selected from each age group in the Republican stage.
In the end, the catalogue of winners and the best works will be published. In November, the final exhibition of the works of the winners and the awards ceremony will be held.
