“State program on increasing the international competitiveness of the higher education system in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019-2023"
Date of creation: 2018
Goal: Using the experience and achievements gained from the successful implementation of the "State Program on education of youth of the Republic of Azerbaijan in foreign countries in 2007-2015", ensure the sustainable development of human capital in Azerbaijan by ensuring graduation of students with acquired modern qualifications from higher education institutions of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as creating opportunities for citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan to receive qualitative education that meets the higher education standards of leading countries.
Information: On 16 November 2018, the "State Program on Increasing the International Competitiveness of the Higher Education System in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019-2023" was approved by Presidential Decree No. 711. The implementation of the State Program includes two directions:
- Establishment of international double degree programs in priority areas for the country's economy between prestigious higher education institutions of the world and higher education institutions in Azerbaijan;
- Funding doctoral-level education of the Azerbaijani citizens abroad to train national personnel with high scientific-research skills for higher education institutions in Azerbaijan
The implementation of the State Program shall be carried out at the expense of funds provided for this purpose in the State Oil Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
