On December 29, in Masazyr settlement of Baku was held the opening ceremony of the 120-apartment building for accommodation of the lonely graduates deprived of parental care.
Mehriban Aliyeva, First Lady of Azerbaijan, the President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation attended the ceremony.
Mehriban Aliyeva, the President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Abid Sharifov, Deputy Prime Minister cut the ribbon to officially open the building.
One of the projects having the great social importance implemented by the Agency for Rehabilitation and Reconstruction of Areas joining the initiative of Heydar Aliyev Foundation is construction of the building for accommodation of the lonely graduates who leave the boarding schools after reaching age of maturity. The fact that Mehriban Aliyeva, who always focuses to the children deprived of parental care, contributes to the provision of a happy future of Azerbaijan with this step. Program “Development of Children's Homes and Boarding Schools” implemented by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation under the guidance of the First Lady provides a great opportunity for improving the living conditions of children in this category and submitting every care and attention to these children.
President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation achieved the solution of the long-lasting and serious issue, i.e. problem of housing of the youth educated at children's house and reached the age of maturity. Currently, 9875 children lost their parents and deprived of parental care are living in state care establishments of our country. In children's houses and boarding schools, those children under 18 are given support by the government. The state realizes the consistent measures to accommodate the children reaching the age of maturity who leave the children's houses, to provide their social security and to integrate them into society. As a result of the care and attention of President Ilham Aliyev and Mehriban Aliyeva, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation to the issue, under the relevant Order of the Cabinet of Ministers, the funding from the state budget was allocated for construction of the building for accommodation of the lonely graduates, who lost both parent, in Masazyr settlement of Absheron peninsula. At the initial stage, construction of the 120-apartment and 13-storey building for accommodation of 240 graduates, and infrastructure facilities is finished. In further stages, it's planned construction of two 120-apartment and 13-storey building for totally 540 graduates.
This building has 50-seat cafe and kitchen, hairdressing salon, shopping center, table games, and internet halls, laundry. The building is provided with all the necessary conditions. All the apartments are equipped with furniture, inventory and equipment, as well as kitchen appliances and bedding. The service fields operating in the building will be employed by the graduates; it also means that 35 lonely graduates will be provided with permanent jobs.
First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva praised the work done here and congratulated the children deprived of parental care on the opening of the new building.
